Not sure it's all about the money (there's a song somewhere about this :) ), I think it's also about the very reduced number of matches a NT coach gets to direct during a year. Not so attractive, especially if you're a young coach. And in the end, practice makes perfect for them too. So somehow I understand them. I think the proof is inconclusive to say whether if it's a good idea or not and it may be one of those things that you need to take on a case by case basis.

So you suggested that national team-coaches must be a sort of elephant's cemetery...a place for men like Tadic, Musi,Trefilov...

Edit: (Sorry, I did something wrong so the text was omitted.) Trefilov is not just the coach of the NT in Russia - "elephant's cemetery" - but he's coaching Kuban' Krasnodar, too.

As usual, you didn't understand what I wrote. Read again and if it's still not clear, I'm happy to explain.

Not all the elephants are passed, Krumbholz isn't one. Tadici also re-invented a bit himself. In my opinion Trefilov is expired, he doesn't do much with Kuban and even Russia. The Olympics were nice accident where the field was also very limited. Plus now she has some material back.

I would love to see Herbert Mueller working for ETO or CSM, he's totally ready. Gyor, please sign uncle Herbert! He's motivating and forming players like crazy. He handled THC in very hard conditions at CL level, with no bench and poorer squad.

When I used word "elephant" I had in mind the fact they are on sunset of a prodigious career not as they are [necessarily] useless anymore (don't take only the empty space of a glass )

Ok, not sure you got it. I will explain. What I wanted to say was the following:
- coaching a NT means you're having about 15-20 matches a year
- this is clearly not enough, especially if you're a younger coach who probably wants more action
- more action also means you're learning more => you become a better coach overall
- club handball gives you more action, since you're having about 30 championship and cup matches + 16 more CL matches (if you are coaching a Final 4 team)

This is why I said I kind of understand them, even beyond the financial aspect.
And in the end, I said the examples we have thus far (only NT vs. NT + club) are so mixed, that it's difficult to see any pattern and it probably depends on the realities in each country.

Hope it's clearer now.

In Denmark the Danish federation (DHF) explicitly told klavs bruun Jørgensen (KBJ) not to engage in coaching at club level in the DK best league as being a DK NT coach simultaneously, probably bc they see a possible conflict of interest doing so. KBJ expressed desire for club coaching with same reasons as mikh mentions. It seems though an abroad club is no problem since Nikolaj Jacobsen is head coach in Rhein-Neckar Löwen. :-k

Nikolaj Jacobsen remains for the end of next year. He had valid contract and he could not leave but he said tha after that he wants to concentrate on NT.

Personally, I also dönt agree with the approach that NT coaching is a part time job. Ok there are less games but it’s different job. You should follow a lot of teams players, talking negotiating. And yes, it’s not a rookie job but also not for almost retired pensioners

The Danishman had actually signed a three-year contract with the club, but Siofok has chosen to use a clause in the contract, which means that Lars Rasmussen this summer is a club's past.

Valcea lost 3 of last 4 matches :

Craiova-Valcea 25-22 (the score is a little bit liar because Craiova had greater score difference almost all the time....)

Valcea - Bistrita 21-26
Valcea - Braila 31-21
Slatina - Valcea 20-16 (Slatina untill last week was Liga's <<red lantern>>)

Valcea has very difficult matches with last 4 teams which fight fiercely for survive, with Roman a midlle classification team but also with CSM, Zalau and Cisnadie (last 2 teams wanting to surpass Valcea on top 3 - 4 )...so is possible Valcea loose the race for a eligible place for EHF CUP. :-k

That has to be one of the most unexpected changes. Kenneth Gabrielsen leaves Vipers at the end of the season - no, not for another team - for a job in the private sector. A big blow for them, I think.
