Tatari won't play against France. She hasn't fully recovered.

Tadici's surprises (handbalvolei):

Portari: Paula Ungureanu (Oltchim Rm. Vâlcea), Mirela Nichita (HC Dunărea Brăila), Denisa Dedu (Corona Brașov)
Extreme: Iulia Curea (Oltchim Rm. Vâlcea), Nicoleta Dincă (”U” Jolidon Cluj), Ana Maria Tănăsie (HC Zalău), Ada Nechita (Oltchim Rm. Vâlcea), Laura Chiper (Corona Brașov)
Pivoți: Crina Pintea (HC Zalău), Raluca Agrigoroaie (HCM Roman), Manuela Manda (CSM Ploiești)
Linia de 9m: Dana Băbeanu (SCM Craiova), Luciana Marin (HCM Roman), Aurelia Brădeanu (Oltchim Rm. Vâlcea), Gabriela Mihalschi (CSM București), Adriana Țăcălie (Corona Brașov), Eliza Buceschi (HCM Baia Mare), Gabriela Perianu (HC Dunărea Brăila), Roxana Varga (HC Zalău)

I would have wanted:
Parvut (BM) instead of Chiper (Brasov)
Tatar (BM), Pop-Apetrei and Branzan (Brasov) instead of Agrigoroaie and Manda, both from the old guard
Apipie (Craiova) instead of Babeanu or Bradeanu

But it's good enough as it is. No Adina Meirosu, is this for real?

8-[ Tadici has this incomprehensible pivot thing going on. What a rough line-up, my God! The country that has Manea, Chintoan and Stanca...

Interesting choice, taking in consideration how good was Laura Chiper yesterday. :D

Line Players: Begoña Fernández and Verónica Cuadrado
Back players: Beatriz Fernández, Patricia Elorza, Elisabet Chávez, Ana Isabel Martínez, Mireya González, Marta Mangué, Nuria Benzal and Beatriz Escribano

Three of these players will be replaced by Silvia Navarro, Macarena Aguilar and Alexandrina Barbosa for the qualification match against Macedonia.

The three players who won't participate have been announced: María Muñoz, Beatriz Escribano and Mireya González. Not much of a surprise really.

Read today that Linnea Torstensson is injured and won't play in qualifaying play-offs. Chances for Poland grow a little bit.

The Netherlands squad for the WCh qualifers against Russia: http://www.handbal.nl/nieuws/16/oranje/ ... nd-bekend/

No Maura Visser, is she injured or what ? Fleury player Bovenberg is selected.

Netherlands-Russia and France-Croatia will be the most exciting matches to
watch. I hope Netherlands and France will qualify for the WCh in Serbia.

She hasn't been selected since the 2011 WC in Brazil.

http://nos.nl/artikel/349276-bondscoach ... isser.html -> Google translate:

"There are cases things have forced me to take this decision", as suggested Groener. "It is better for the team if I just do not pick her in the squad." In a brief response Visser said she regrets the situation.

http://nos.nl/os2012/artikel/353243-vis ... p-okt.html -> Google translate:

The 26-year-old Visser has already apologized for her criticism during the World Cup on the coach and some fellow players: "I'm too far gone, I have now and then count to ten."
idle banter.

Hm, Russia without a single Zvezda player. What the problem. Sidorova, Kalinina, Postnova, Vyakhireva, Marennikova could be very useful IMHO

Alina Bychko (Sparta, Kryviy Rig), 14.04.88, Left wing
She is from the same youth group as Managarova, just play on other wing. After financial problems lots of players left "golden team" (Managarova, Borschenko, Parhomenko, Tsybulenko, Tsygytsya). Now Bychko one of the key players of Sparta. Very small info about Ukrainian championship here at Ukraine, so it almost all that I know :D

Female Handball in Macedonia is artificial (Kometal and Vardar) and has been so for 20 years. Girls try I give them cred for tt but is sad to see how antitlened and limited they really are.

Spain playd only with half of their strength.

Such a shame about the Netherlands, but you could see the tide turning already in the end of the first half. They have a very interesting team, but they're physically not up to par - once they started struggling, it was all over.

Russia is a team with huge potential, but it can go either way for them really. They can repeat thei glory days of 2005-2009 or just as easily continue being irrelevant like they've been over the last few years.

It's nice to see that some things never change and that EHF's website is as horrible as ever.
Although I quite like their new routine of writing down the scorers, but not the score.

Like Joana says EHFs pages sucks

Turkey - Denmark 24-42
Netherland - Russia 26-27 (halftime 16-10!)
Sweden - Poland 23-26
Germany - Ukraine 24-16
France - Croatia 18-18
Iceland - Czech Republik 17-29 (happy to see these girls from Czech still developing)

Poland not really a big surprise. We knew they could match Sweden but still fun
to see new teams make it. I dont think they will mess up this at home

^ Thank you. There are also few pages where EHF wrote the score, but not the scorers. So:

France - Croatia 18-18 (5-10)

France: Pineau 4 goals, Baudoin 4, Dembélé 3, Kamto 2, Gnabouyou 2, Dancette, Goiorani 1, Lacrabère 1
Croatia: Elez 5 goals, Penezić 4, Zebić 3, Gaće 3, Ježić 1, Milanović-Litre 1, Čović 1

Yes! Seems like Poland is finally getting back into business, it has been a few dull years without them :) Am glad about the Czech girls, too and feel sorry for the loser of France vs. Croatia and the Dutch. Without the French and the Swedes, this would make a really awkward WCh, it's hard to imagine it but I am trying to prepare myself a bit ... Maybe time for a change in the French NT (Honesta and Krumbholz swapping teams maybe? 8:) Ö

-Sweden-Poland
Reading swedish news they seem quite shocked that they lost and danish commentators also appointed swedes "big" favourites. It seems swedes had problems controlling Kudladz? Anyways, the victory is far from sure yet and the Swedes never give up but nice job so far by Poland. I'm rooting for Sweden though, since I have a some favourite 92-93 generation swedish players that I hope to see go to Wch.

-Turkey-Denmark
Özel was injured and didn't play for Turkey today while Denmark was missing our two best GKs, Toft and Greve. Also, Schumacher was rested.
Good performances in attack by almost all danish field players, especially Grigel, Mulle, Line J, AG and Trine Østergaard. Defense let alot back to be wished for though, and Pytlick wasn't happy bc of that. Anja Andersen also asked for more variations in the attack play.
GKs performance could have been better too, but Poulsen who played most of the match didn't have much of a defense in front of her either + some of the players she had not had the possibility to prepare for.

DK goalscorers: Lotte Grigel 7, Mette Gravholt 6, Ann Grete Nørgaard 6, Kristina Kristiansen 5, Stine Jørgensen 3, Trine Østergaard 3, Line Jørgensen 3, Maibritt Kviesgaard 2, Camilla Dalby 2, Louise Burgaard 2, Susan Thorsgaard 1, Lærke Møller 1, Pernille Larsen 1

-Netherlands-Russia
Netherlands played great handball in first half. Abbingh was flying and the wings + gk good too. On the other hand Nycke Groot and Polman were somewhat dissapointing. Netherlands couldn't keep it up in second half, a real pity. If only they had a few more players, they could go far!
