All I can say, is that this all-Stars team will have a lot of difficulties in
defensive game. I prefer Trine Østergaard instead of Lygsborg,
Burgaard instead of Dalby, and Heindahl or Svala instead of Gravholt.

The amount of point is left out, which normally very brutally shows that RW'ers can't play on any ast level.

Epic day in danish handball where the playoff and relagation starts.

I have a few team news..

Karolina Szwed will not play today, officially because of a visit to the dentist!!

Aquilar, Gitte A and Berit K all very doubtful for Randers.

Masson back problems and Sabine J the flu will play.
Think I will go for something possitive here - Handball is just a great sport!

Nobody is posting anything about the Danish league?! #-o I know the top level of the teams have dropped quite a bit, but the league is still very strong and in the past week the two finalists have been found after some intense and exciting semifinals. The league is very equal which is definitely positive and we have seen four extremely equal teams. The results were:

Randers HK – Team Tvis Holstebro 28-32(18-14)
Camilla Dalby 14, Siraba Dembele 4, Sabina Jacobsen 3 ….. Louise Burgaard 9, Thorey Stefansdottir 8, Ann-Grethe Nørgaard 5, Mette Gravholt 4

Team Tvis Holstebro – Randers HK 26-27(11-16)
Kristina Kristiansen 7, Mette Gravholt 5, Anna Loerper 4, Ann-Grethe Nørgaard 4 ….. Camilla Dalby 10, Ulrika Ågren 6, Sabina Jacobsen 4

Team Tvis Holstebro through on aggregate 58-55

Tvis Holstebro in their first ever final! In both matches they played fantastic in the second half and the main profiles were Kristina Kristiansen and Louise Burgaard, but also Icelandic wing Stefansdottir played on a very high level in both matches. For Randers Dalby scored 24 goals in two matches which speaks for itself. She was a constant threat and was also feeding the pivot Ågren. I hope she will continue this play for Buducnost!

Viborg HK – FC Midtjylland 24-24(13-13)
Johanna Ahlm 5, Rikke Skov 5, Marit Frafjord 4, Mouna Chebbah 3, Isabelle Gulldén 3 ….. Line Jørgensen 9, Fie Woller 3, Trine Østergaard 3, Nycke Groot 3

FC Midtjylland – Viborg HK 26-23(11-9)

Line Jørgensen 7, Nycke Groot 7, Lærke Møller 6, Trine Troelsen 3 ….. Isabelle Gulldén 6, Johanna Ahlm 4, Marit Frafjord 4.

FC Midtjylland through on aggregate 50-47.

Viborg had improved themselves for the semifinals, but it still wasn´t enough. For me the key factor for them losing to FCM was that their goalkeepers are not good enough and they have problems on the wings. Johanna Ahlm was their best player in both matches and was a constant threat. For FCM the backcourt duo Nycke Groot and Line Jørgensen played two great matches whilst Lærke Møller had been quite disappointing. BUT then something happened in the last 20 minutes of the second match. When everything was to be decided Lærke Møller took over and totally dominated with a great performance – nice shots and her impressive speed put the final nail in the coffin for Viborg. Great to see her back on this level!

This means we will most likely not see Viborg HK in champions league next season which is a shame, because their team will be very interesting.

The players that deserve the most praise after these four matches are: Johanna Ahlm (VHK), Thorey Stefansdottir (TTH), Nycke Groot (FCM), Kristina Kristiansen (TTH) and then of course the fantastic Danish rightback trio of Louise Burgaard (TTH), Line Jørgensen (FCM) and Camilla Dalby (RHK). Combined they scored 52 goals and Denmark really has a luxury problem with regards to lefthanded backs. The fact that our leftback position looks very weak is another matter.

Wild Card tournament? ;)
France, Russia, Denmark, Germany? I'm sure _they_ can work something for VHK. Their challenge is to actually finish 3rd.
Thanks for the update on the Danish League. I think it remains the best in Europe, considering the overall level of all the players involved.

And Viborg also had some luck to join the Final Four, due to the goal by Bulath against
KIF Vejen in minute 59,59 !

If you're outside of Denmark (which i am), you can't watch any of the matches, so it's difficult to talk about it much. But I prefer the danish league to anything else really. I'd rather watch a mid-Table match from Denmark than the champions league final for example.
idle banter.

So, the EHF CL Wild Card goes to... Viborg HK! Nothing new under the sun. :S

But, I really don't know who else could they give such a wild card to? Russia, Denmark, probably Germany and France seem to be the obvious choices.

Thanks for an excellent post red and white. :) A real joy to read. To be honest, I had looked for this thread, but without finding it, I manged to convince myself no such thread existed for the danish league 12/13.

It's funny to observe that despite TTH and FCM qualifying with the same goal margin of +3, the ways each team reached those results were very very different. Actually you might say, looking at TTH latest couple of games, that these days they play like a team who can beat anyone when they're at their best and lose to anyone when they're at their worst. Fortunately for us, even when they're down, they've shown to be able to rise again, in stead of just giving up like so many others teams seems to do. A quality much required for CL and which I am sure will help when they'll win the tournament next season. :p

To be honest though, I think FCM is the favorites in the final, apart from the very impressive and shocking away win in the EHF cup, I believe FCM usually knows how to play well against TTH. On the same note, FCM is a very stable team, they almost never lose, and I think they also have the best players overall.

FCM won the danish championship after a second leg, where TTH was at some points in front with 1 goal but never more than that and since FCM had a four goal advantage from first leg, the match never turned into a thriller. TTH suffered from the absence of Loerper and Niedwiedz so they had to play with Jonsdottir as PM and Mulle as LB in the beginning and later with Mulle as PM and Kjær as LB. None of it was a success. It was two teams with good defences.

Line Jørgensen, Sandra Toft and Sabine Englert the best players. Also good performances by Lærke Møller, Nycke Groot, AG and Susan Thorsgaard, while FCM wings, Burgaard and Stefansdottir were disappointing and the Mulle-Gravholt cooperation never really got started.

Congrats FCM ! It was totally deserved they're the new danish champions. Ikast was the best team
this season. Some reactions from players, coach and director after the match:
http://aoib.dk/artikel/kollektivets-mesterskab

For next season, I think FCM will be again the favorites to keep their title because they will
have a stable squad + the reinforcement with Stine Jørgensen. She will lift up their attack !

Polman løb (12.06 min)

Remember the last years when Wörz won the bib test in Randers every time..
