France - NT, LFH, etc

Postby Anicia Juliana » Tue Apr 02, 2013 9:10 pm

This is the recap of the regular season in France.

1. Metz, 51 pts
2. Fleury Loiret, 45 pts

3. Nîmes, 42 pts
4. Le Havre, 37 pts
5. Issy Paris, 36 pts
6. MBBA, 34 pts

7. TSCVHB, 31 pts
8. Besançon, 29 pts
9. Nice, 28 pts
10. Dijon, 27 pts

Red plays semis directly.
Blue play-offs in order to reach the semis.
Green play-downs. One team will be relegated.

7th is Toulon. When you think this team played ChL just a couple of seasons ago... And they still have good players: Gnabouyou, Goiorani, Flognman, Deroin, Mwasesa, Pinheiro, Tuvene. Plus Herbrecht - they have young talented players and older experienced ones.

Metz had the best attack. Issy Paris - the best defense. Best GKs were Nicky Houba (Nimes) and Armelle Attingré (Issy) - they count the n° of saves. So this explains a bit how come Nimes finished so well and of course we can now consider the Challenge Cup exit at least a bit surprising.

And one last thing that caught my attention: among the top 10 scorers are only 2 French players - Baudouin and Houette. The others are: Luzumova, Arslanagic, Stoiljkovic, Popovic, Mordal, Jericek, Fernandez, Toskovic.

Points system during regular season: victory = 3 points, draw = 2 points, defeat = 1 point. So there are a lot of points to distribute in the French League. :)

Return match at Docks Oceane in Le Havre the 17th April.

0 points for not playing. ;)
Normally french system is the same like with two points. SEHA is the only league I know that officially takes 3 points system from football (3-1-0).

I don't know if Nodjialem Myaro plays well with Nice because I'm not
following the performances of her team, sorry. But you can see the

Fleury Loiret 27-22 Metz

Great atmosphere and exciting match.
Metz will run for +6 in re-match, or they are playing on 2,3 wins?

According to this, they play until 2 matches only

TBH, for me this result is quite shocking, they lost EHF Cup last weekend, and now this?

Congrats Fleury ! Of course, their players were more fresh than Metz players.

Best Fleury players: Fernandez, Bovenberg and keeper Pereira
Best Metz players: keeper Pierson, and Zaadi

Kristina Liscevic and Svetlana Ognjenovic missed this match because both got hand injuries in the EHF Cup final. Liscevic will have to undergo surgery and skip the Mediterranean Games this summer.

Metz is the new French champion! The coronation caps their great season!

METZ-FLEURY : 27-21
Championnat LFH, Finale retour
Arènes de Metz, 19 mai 2013, 4750 spectateurs
Arbitres : MM Reveret et Pichon
Mi-temps : 14-14

METZ HANDBALL : Gardiennes : Glauser (10 arrêts ), Pierson (2 arrêts ) - Joueuses de champ : Dembele, Prudhomme (6/9), Kanto (1/2), Zaadi (0/1), Baudouin (7/12), Piéjos, Broch (0/1), Andryushina (2/3), Pidpalova (5/11), Gonzalez Ortega (1/1), Luciano (4/7), Liscevic (1/1)
Exclusions : Andryushina (15e), Andryushina (59e)
Entraîneur : Sandor Rac

FLEURY : Gardiennes : Perreira (10 arrêts), Callave (1 arrêt) – Joueuses de champ : Issifou, Fernandez (2/6), Kamdop, Cissé (2/5), Houette (2/3), Rassinoux, Lopez (2/5), Bovemberg (2/2), Niombla (2/5), Stanca (1/4), Vaitanaki, Mangue (5/12)
Exclusions : Lopez (34e)

They compare Liscevic to Beckenbauer because she played with her left arm (did she really?). And for that reason , she will remain a legend of the club.

I was shocked when I saw she was on the roster for this match. She had broken her hand!

Congrats Metz! :)

All Star Team LFH (online poll):

Image

LW: Paule BAUDOUIN (Metz HB)
LB: Jovana STOILJKOVIC (Havre Athletic Club HB)
CB: Kristina LISCEVIC (Metz HB)
RB: Ana DE SOUSA (Havre Athletic Club HB)
RW: Marta LOPEZ (Fleury Loiret HB)
GK: Armelle ATTINGRE (Issy Paris HB)
LP: Laurisa LANDRE (Havre Athletic Club HB)
Best defender: Stéphanie DAUDE (Havre Athletic Club HB)
Best coach: Sandor RAC (Metz HB)
MVP: Kristina LISCEVIC (Metz HB)
Talent of the season: Manon HOUETTE (Fleury Loiret HB)

It shows how much people appreciate Liscevic. I voted for Luzumova for the MVP prize, because she was second-best scorer and top passer this season.

Radu Naum and Cristian Geambasu (respectable journalists) celebrate Olivier Krumbholz:

The Afterlife Of The Immortal

Quotes:

OK, the man with more medals than our NT has won in its entire history...
He's the devil incarnate. The type that makes bricks without straw...
He tried to make his players believe that 'the madness" of the poor, the effrontery (@ our French users, he uses the word gavrochiade, a nice clin d'oeil) converted into permanent rebellion can defeat the latent pride of some talented girls (aka the Romanian NT) who were waiting for the victory to come without having to really work for it...

A bientôt, monsieur Krumbholz!

Quotes

1999. Silver medal in the WCh after decades of mediocrity and after only one year of krumbholzistic rule...
Maybe Alain Portes, his substitute, is now, what Krumbholz was 15 years ago. The reformator. Novelty replacing routine. Who knows? Maybe Krumbholz has things left to show and he will do it with a club team. Maybe this is the change he needed without knowing it. But it hurts.

In conclusion, respect Mr. O.K! You have marked our collective memory.
