Viktória Oguntoye (GK, Érd) will play for the slovak national team again. She was born in Párkány (Sturovo), and has hungarian mother. She played for Győr some years ago, and she was very talented, and was called the "new Pálinger". She got hungarian citizenship, and played for the hungarian junior team years ago. And nothing. She develops nothing, she has got very nice physical features, but until now, nothing more. She playes for Érd, in the "lukewarm water"

I think she won't be needed for the hungarian NT anymore.

^ And maybe - in a Quatarish style - she will play for China before retiring... I hate to see how these things are possible under IHF.

She thanked Norge's federation for selection, but she told them that she will join Montenegro's team. Her mother is from Montenegro. Quite logic, since Norway has Lunde for few more years, Grimsbo, Solberg and Sando.

Me neither.

I doubt it was a wise decision to have both Janurik and Oguntoye in the same club. Both had a sterling breakthrough tournament as juniors and possibly Oguntoye would have been more of a factor in an other team.

While Janurik has become one of the few players who didn't become worse during their years in Érd, she, well, sort of vanished. Actually, nothing new, one more wasted GK, we have also had high hopes about Vivien Víg, who failed to impress, too.

During the third quarterfinal of Russian Superleague, commentator served the information, that Anna Kochetova returns to the Russian NT! She should be part of the squad already for the WCh qualification play-offs against Germany.

Should probably add that some players are available again with the new Danish NT coach.

Dalby has been called to replace Line Jørgensen for the upcoming Danish NT gathering, so we can take her off the list.

Pretty sure Lyksborg said she's available again for NT too? But she hasn't been picked.

After last week's speculation, now it's official: Gabriella Szucs will play for Romania from now on. She told Prosport: 'I hope that both the hungarians and romanians will understand that at this point of my career, I choose to play for Romania. Hungarian coach Nemeth Andras gave me a call and said that I could play for the Hungarian team again, but this happened only after I gave my word that I will play for Romania. I'd like to thank him for having trust in me, but I've decided to stay here and play for Romania.'

Well, if it's true than it's a good decision by Gabi, so good luck to her.

btw, this could be also the result of the indecisive behaviour by the Hungarian NT coach who simply k**f this situation.

So Gabi wanted to play for Hu as she said in an interview in March, 2015 (below the aricle), but than she was not invited. And as I see, it's too late now and the Hungarian federation deserves to lose her.

According to the President of Russian handball federation, Yuliya Managarova could get Russian passport in 2-3 months.

Keeping regulations, however, she will be able to play for Russian NT only from the summer of 2017.

But it doesn't mean that she is guarantee place in Russian NT. Many things might happen until summer of 2017. :)

Good for her! I´ve never been a fan of these naturalizations. This reminds me of the old discussions we had on this forum 10-12 years ago regarding the Austrian national team - I have always been puzzled by the fact that a lot of people support naturalizations. To me it´s just unfair sportsmanship(although there are exceptions).

It was announced yesterday that Managarova is officially a citizen of Russian Federation. Deputy Prime Minister of Russia with her new passport as a proof:

^ They look happier about this, than they are on the court. There's almost no emotion from them during a match. Except for V - she looks pissed off all the time :)
Wonder how the Russians would fare with Leslie as a NT coach.

I'd say much better. Bobrovnikova, Ilina et al. all play better in Rostov.

TV2 Norway had a livestream during the Norway's match yesterday, and Larvik-coach Moen said something about Dragana Cvijic. He said the plan was for her to represent Montenegro in the future.. Is this true?

Oana Manea retires from the NT of Romania. She wants more time with her family, but will continue to play for CSM București.

She is a big loss. But we have some youngsters who need to rise ans shine (Lorena Ostase perhaps).
Let's see the good side: M. Ambros could make only one change between defence and attack now... :D
