16.10.2015 19:00 - Ljubljana
Krim Mercator (SLO) vs HCM Baia Mare (ROU) +6

16.10.2015 18:00 - Bucuresti
CSM Bucuresti (ROU) vs MKS Selgros Lublin (POL) no idea hows it going at csm nowadays but the +8 will be ok at first sight.

17.10.2015 18:30 - Larvik
Larvik (NOR) vs Rostov-Don (RUS) +3 predict a huge tactical game.

17.10.2015 20:15 - Skopje
HC Vardar (MKD) vs Györi Audi ETO KC (HUN) gon be the match of the group stage. dunno what can i expect. havent seen vardar this year yet, i guess they're preparing for this match for weeks.

@HB9, Are Danick Snelder and Jana Krause 100% ready to perform at their best?

Snelder broke her finger last week and I doubt she'll play anytime soon. Krause has been back for a few weeks already and seems to do fine.
idle banter.

Vardar and THC will win their opening matches.

Looking forward to Vardar-Gyor and to Bucharest's debut in Champions League.

Vardar-Gyor very hard to predict what will happen.

But i will give my opinion about this match.

First of all as we all know Vardar has a poor (it's hard for me not to say amateur) coach and Gyor has one of the best coaches out there. I like Martin, he's very clever, and i like his tactics, and the team he leads always seems good no matter what players they have.
Last season Vardar beat Gyor but their performance wasn't the best, and Gyor played the best they could with the players they had, but they were lacking something they have this season, back players that can shoot from distance, and that makes their attack more dangerous than it was.
If Vardar learned something in the past 2 years i think they can win this one, but if they continue with the last year's performance i expect Gyor to win easily.
All in all i'd give a slight advantage to ETO, but if Vardar puts a strong defense and plays smarter (without Knezevic oops Lekic making her usual stupid mistakes) in attack they will end up as winners.
My support here goes to our neighbours Vardarkite. :)

Guess they are not interested in watching weaker opponents, the hall will be full when Buducnost comes :)

And Stozice were never full not even when Krim had a better team, with Penezic and others.

Larvik - Rostov 21 -27
Larvik very weak today, but missing Wojtas, Stange & Edin, all leftbacks was too much. Molid is a clumsy mess, please do not use her in attack.
Rostov; Lunde =D> Ilina, Bobrovnikova, Managarova =D> And great defence by Rostov, great start for the Russians.

I've rarely seen Larvik behind 1-9 or what it was at one point. That was the only shocking thing for me about the game. Lunde is back in business and that Ilina-girl is amazing! Larvik should have used Breivang more as playmaker in this game and I'm happy that Breistøl got some playing time at least. It's about time.

I expect Rostov to be in Budapest in May 2016.

Rostov? hardly in the Final Four. I watched this team several times this year. normally Gyor, Buducnost, CSM Bucharest and Vardar/Larvik.

Rostov is definitely Final 4 candidate. But it's too early to make predictions.

Nice power demonstration from Győr.
Even without Görbicz and Gabi Tóth.
The Tomori / Broch / Amorim inside defensive area will be a nightmare for many teams this year.
Great all-around performance from Kovacsics, Groot was pretty nice too.
Planéta smart and powerful too.

Playing on Friday afternoon in a city where the traffic is blocked certainly did not help...But Bucharest has to learn about handball, the fans need time to adapt. There are not many things to do in Baia Mare or Valcea on a Friday afternoon, but Bucharest is a bigger city.

dunno maybe you're right. but few weeks ago there was a vardar-pick szeged duel which was ignored by the home (football) ultras. almost the half of the hall was empty and ehf wrote 5000 spectators. the jane sandanski's capacity is 6.5k. :)

That hall is a 5k seater hence I believe there were no more than 1,5-2k fans to watch that game. I suppose the club's leadership glitches lately, the hectic traffic and drizzly weather took their toll. But the team looks fine though...

Podravka & Hypo very weak, will Podravka even win their own leauge with this team?!

Lublin had a weak preformance too, but missing players like Drabik, Kocela & Repelewska - anyone now if they are injured, or/when will they will be back?

Thuringer HC better than expected really, and Fleury will make some trouble for the big teams, no doubt. (Fleury beat Vardar twice this year, not that Vardar have been good so far)

And great to see Szandra Zacsik on court again! =D>
