Not only in Romania, in almost all of Eastern Europe sadly.vlad_impaler wrote:This happened because the school teachers, they were forbidden to use their left hand. Only in Romania..

Doru, if Geiger is a good defender then I am Ambros Martin.

You are a positive person indeed

To me, playing Geiger at #2 in defence is the best way to open up a boulevard over there. Same with Manea.
Doru Delavale wrote:We must not forget that Geiger once upon 3-4 matches got us out from the sheet through her unexpected goals.... our memory is short...but we want more constancy from a NT player, which is after all, reasonable !
What do her (indeed unexpected!) goals have anything to do with her being able to defend? I think we all need to be a bit more constant

I want to said that her lack of constancy is less visible in defence....but even so with her all weak points she helped us time to time...we always wish ALL the NT players to be robots but mostly of the teams have only 1-3-4 robots (except Norway ...which have more)

The almost same liaison as "quite good defence...sometime" , with "great" defence .

Re: Promising players - potential stars
you clearly are biased. this player was never a "quite good defender". not even a defender. she is an attacking player and you might call her a "quite good shooter...sometimes".

anyway, this is not a good topic to talk about Melinda Geiger. she is not a promising player, nor potential star.

Monica Alexandra Barabas (CB),born 04.04.2001 seems to be in Tarsoaga's shadow now ...but the recent title showed that she is a little bit neglected...
I hoped she'll play as soon as possible in LN .... Congrat !

Elena Mikhailichenko is a star in her age. MVP of youngster championship. It's quite possible that she will go to Olympic Games if Russia will be selected. The article name is "I prefer handball to parties"

Re: Promising players - potential stars
Eva Kerekes(LW), I know her from several past matches but now she convinced me...the way she's floating, the way she passes and touch the ball, very imaginative ,speedy and intelligent way of play.

Quite Hungarian name. Is she Hungarian (I mean, her identity, not nationality)?
No offense, just interest

Yes, Eva is 100% Hungarian, born and grown in Harghita.
I think she has great skills and I fear Hungary will run after her in future.
But If she would choose to play for her origins, would be completely understandable for me.

I’d accept it too. I was just curious.
I mean Gabriella Szabo is also quite Hungarian name and her identity and mother tongue is Romanian

Re: Promising players - potential stars
Actually Kerekes's performance in the ECh is not very demonstrative. Zoe Sprengers from the Netherlands performs better than her.
The Dutch pivot Nikita van der Vliet, too, is very promising. Quite weird is the situation of two Portuguese back players, Joana Resende and Beatriz Sousa. They're pretty good but play for a pathetic team.
I knew the German back player Dana Bleckmann very well before the ECh as well, and she plays in this tournament, too, very good, in defense as well.

In conclusion, I declare that EHF must be destroyed
