Comebacking players

Postby Wbk » Fri Feb 12, 2016 11:51 pm

As I had no idea where to put an info of this kind correctly, I started a talk to my brain ... and decided to create an own topic finally :) In fact, it could be useful, couldn't it?

Let's begin to fill the topic with the information few days old...

Would be nice to go to a third olympic tournament.

She says:
"I started to think about my return to handball while I was watching matches of the World Championships."
"A primary motivation is to play at the Olympics."
"I went for Astrakhanochka because E.V.Trefilov is working there. He is the NT coach, he has coached me during the most of my career and I think that under him I can reach necessary form in the shortest time possible."

...and continue with what was not written here so far:

Excellent Icelandic NT playmaker Rakel Dögg BRAGADÓTTIR is back as well !

She wears a jersey of Stjarnan in Icelandic league.

Rakel was off for two years because of head injury.

As a player of course. It'll depend on her fitness.

That would be sensational. I understood she wants to make a comeback when I saw her warming up with Buducnost prior to the final 4.

It would be sensational, I agree, but it would not be a complete surprise. In an interview a while ago, Bojana said that the only thing that could get her started again is the Olympics.

Bojana Popovic was one of my fave players in handball history but I have 2 questions concerning her...

- Her comeback will concern only the Olympic Games or the next season with Buducnost too ?

- Will Adzic select Popovic as a player for the OG in Rio knowing she didn't play any single matches
with BUD this season ? It wouldn't be fair for some young Montenegrin players honestly...

Will all the respect I have for Bojana's great career !

It's to early to answer those questions. I guess we'll have to wait until July to get more details about her situation.

Only for Olympic Games.

As I mentioned earlier, if she doesn't get ready for it I am sure she will not play... She decided to retire in big style, even if she could play few seasons more, so I am sure she will not risk with her reputation.
But concerning that she's preparing whole season for this tournament, it's not impossible.

Well, everything what she has done for Montenegrin handball is for big respect, so I'd not care for leaving home that 14th player, who usually would not get playing time from Adžić.

I hope she will be ready because i think Despotovic and Grbic are not up for this task. And of course they wouldn't play a single minute.
But if she was preparing for this the whole year i think there is a big chance that she will go.
So it's better to have Bojana, with Jaukovic replacing her after some time, also i would like to see Bojana on PM position. Adzic would have the so much needed and wanted rotation.
Cheering for Bojana to be ready, but i have a feeling that we will see her in RIO... as a player..

I'm SO excited! Bojana's last tournament was my first tournament watching handball. Her play was part of the reason I got hooked.

wooow!
That would be supercool to see Bojana, a real legend on court.
And I kind of understand Adzic, if Jovanovic is certainly out of the games due to her injury.
On the referee-front Bojana is a huge addition as well. They wont dare f*****g with her. :)

If she'll be present, I'll consider cheering for Montenegro ;)

Darya CHAPLYGINA /née BOGDANOVA/ (CB) comebacks! She was an important part of great Russian 1994/95 youth generation, has gold from 2011 U17 YECh and silver from 2012 U18 YWCh. After that, she had serious medical complications in the head area. Now, after 4 years of therapy, she returns to handball for Astrakhanochka, her native club =D> Anyway, she will start in the reserve team and won't join the first team sooner than in December.
