Not so big change in Women's CL from 2020, but Men's with 12 clubs is insane decision, especially for smaller clubs...

More matches to watch. It should be interesting.
The only bad thing that could happen is that we have one really strong group and one really weak.

More and more new problems with Moustafa’s regime. Is it becoming unsustainable?

The case is becoming highly serious...

"PATHF will seek all legal paths available to stop this outrage from Moustafa and to defend the integrity of worldwide handball from those forces from the past that make lack of transparency and manipulation their only sport."

^ Not a fan of Moustafa and agree with you that his change would be beneficial to handball.
However, regardless of who the IHF boss is, breaking things into 2 confederations should be on the table.

The only one reason for Mustafa's plan (which I agree) is that big states with great financial resources like USA and Canada will develop handball inside their countries if they can see they can reach more easily on WHC . :-k

Now official --> Handball Panamerica divided into two separate confederations :!:

North America and the Caribbean Handball Confederation (“North”): 19 full members, including Canada, Cuba, Dominican republic, Greenland, Mexico, Puertorico, USA, etc. + 2 regional members (Guadelopue, Martinique).

South and Central America Handball Confederation (“South”): 18 full members, including Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Costarica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Uruguay, Venezuela, etc. + one regional member.

http://ihf.info/en-us/mediacentre/news/ ... px?ID=5506

Of course it's very important for handball competitions, as it will bring changes with relation to international events' system regarding their organisation and consequences (qualification criteria for WCh). Hopefully they will be announced (in time) :-k

But why? It's true in a big capital you need at least 2 major arenas but you can use this for handball.

The president estimates that the EU will invest altogether 10-15 billion forints

Why EU money?

Public sports halls in Germany often haven't done any work done on them for 40 years (and they look like terrible because of that). "There is no money for it" is the answer you get when you ask why that is the case. The EU would not even pay a single Penny for renovation - and that's okay, because why should they.

If I remember well in Poland they used EU money for some arenas, but here in Romania I didn't hear about that. Imo Budapest, Bucharest, Warsaw, Paris, Berlin tc every top 10 capital of Europe as population deserves 2 big halls.

Sorry, where did you read that sentence? In the Hungarian article there is nothing like that.
In conclusion, I declare that EHF must be destroyed

The english part is obviously from Google.

What does Eb translate to?

Európa-bajnokság => European Championships.

Big news!

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has ruled that the proposed North/South Pan American split is null and void !

http://panamhandball.org/pathf/2018/09/ ... the-pathf/

This would be a heavy loss for Moustafa...

You know how I feel about Moustapha and his clique at the helm of IHF.
But truth be told, PanAm has had huge institutional problems itself as well and they have been behaving like little Moustaphas in the past, who aimed at destroying Greenland for example.

I think that this split could've helped handball in the Americas on the long term, with the South focusing more on developing the game in places with potential like Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile or Colombia and the North rebooting the game in Canada and the US, growing it in Mexico and actually helping it to become competitive in Greenland (the level of this team at the last PanAm has been impressive).

A split would've exposed teams in the North to qualification to the WCh, which can help them attract sponsors and grow the game locally. It would have also solved the geographical difficulty of travelling from Nuuk to Buenos Aires for tournaments.

I think the split should go forward, if not now, sometime in the future.
