2017 World Championship - Day 6

Postby vlad_impaler » Wed Dec 06, 2017 10:58 pm

14:00 Paraguay - Slovenia
14:00 Poland - Hungary

18:00 Romania - Angola
18:00 Sweden - Argentina

20:30 Spain - France
20:30 Czech Republic - Norway

So basically Rasmussen is a fantastically lucky man. He can qualify even if Hungary loses to Poland. Poland on the other hand, are very unlucky, because if they lose tomorrow they are eliminated although they beat Sweden. Sweden cannot be reached anymore if they win against Argentina tomorrow.

Then I guess Romania-Angola and Spain-France are also important to be followed. France are under big pressure, because if they lose to Spain, they will meet Norway. Romania can win the group if France don't win.

Norway setting a new record :)

29 matches in a row without a loss :)

This may be our best NT ever, with so many fast, strong and "deadly" players on the team.

Nora Mørk top scorer so far, closed followed by our captain Oftedal. Here together with the best GK on earth, Lunde :)
Image

Sitting on the bench...what a bench eh? :) Our new pivot Brattset to carry on Løkes hertitage, Vikki finally nailing all her shots after a terrible start on the tournament, Skogrand and Herrem, world class wingers :)

So many heroes out there giving it all, and so eager to show it. When failing, not even a huge victory against Poland 35-20 could stop newcomer Emilie Christensen from crying in tears when match was over, disappointed over her performance :)

Relax Emilie, it's ok :)

Next Sweden, and it will be a helluva match. Good luck girls :)

Angola gets too little credit. Their team is full of talent, well balanced on most positions (maybe some problems on the RB, but with class CB, LB and LP and good first GK). They were just in a very tough group in which they pushed all teams to their limits. Their biggest limitation right now might be the depth of the team, since they couldn't preserve good advantages against all teams in this group.

If you compare them to what they show in the OG, I believe they are improving in terms of game management. Soubak brought something extra and I think they'll be even tougher on the next WCh and OG.

If some of them would only accept to come and play in Europe, they'd get that extra international experience that they're missing.

@Mr. 007, @fmj: How was the match? Did the Czech R. even try or they just threw it away and saved themselves for tomorrow against Hungary?

:-" Your last loss was to Romania (in qualifiers though). Last draws to Russia and Romania I think.

I guess they tried from the start, but the gap opened pretty quickly and after the match was pretty much decided they started to prepare for Hungary.
