Danish National Team - "a new beginning"

Thanks for all the links. Something had to happen. Personally I would have liked a new coach, because Pytlick seems to be stuck in his ways and the team hasn´t developed for years even if IMO solid players have joined the team. I can´t think of one single player who performs better for the national team than she does for her club and that is quite unusual. In fact most are underperforming under Pytlick´s rule. He´s got the Trefilov syndrome? :)

I think it´s a good idea to try some new players for the GF World League in early October to give the more established names a wake-up call to make them realize that there is competition for their spots. From the brutto team not going to the GF World League I hope to see Dalby, Line Jørgensen, Fisker, Troelsen and Toft at the EC in December. They are still better than their young competition(Fisker and Toft would have been nominated if not injured). Otherwise I think it´s great to see Gravholt, Grigel and the strongest girls from the 92-93 get some experience. Generally it seems that Pytlick has changed his tactics a bit and included some smaller players which will improve our attack and fastbreaks, but probably also weaken our defense a bit.

My fear, however, is that when the final 16 players will be nominated in December there will pretty much have been no changes and he will end up choosing the usual suspects, e.g. Berit Kristensen and Krogshede. But at least other players will now get a chance to show their worth..

But is this the right way to try them in your "hometournament" when France and Norway come with full power? I mean, Golden League was created to be attractive for television rights. ...

You have a valid point. Denmark is going to get thrashed big time, so the spectators in the hall as well as all the viewers at home will not get a very positive first impression of this "new" team.. However, I have a suspicion that Denmark would have gotten their ass kicked anyway. I just look forward to seeing how the 92-generation will cope when suddenly facing Lunde-Haraldsen, Pineau, Postnove, etc.

Why not? It is not a really important tournament at all.

I mean, Golden League was created to be attractive for television rights. ...

OK, I see, but in this case should it be like a show without hard fights?

when France and Norway come with full power?

Seeing the Norwegian list...
In conclusion, I declare that EHF must be destroyed

11 out of 14 OG-Goldwinners - 3 injured. that's full available power. France the same, Leynaud is out due to injury but they don't make big experiments.

Seems like there are new demands training wise and Line J can't live up to it right now, because of little injuries that keeps bothering her.

I think it depends on how it is presented to the public. It is clear that it's a new and young team so if commentators tell that, people will be more tolerant (they was too when they changed alot of young players into the team last time).

Something had to be done, so I'm just pleased to see he did chose to do something this drastic.

I am thrilled to see Gitte Andersen on the team, just cross my fingers her knees can take it. Also, Grigel, Hjort, Greve, Woller, Strangholt and Aagaard, all very exciting choices.

Apparently non of the club trainers appeared at the press-conference, even though Pytlick invited them. Not only to be there, but also to a talk about the training ect.

I saw 2 of the "new" NT players yesterday - Julie Aagaard for SK and Anne Sofie Hjort for Ringkøbing. The match was a big Anna Sophie Okkels show she was in a league of here own.
Aagaard should have done better especially in the second half where Okkels was guarded. Anne Sofie Hjort big girl and talented and good looking :-) but made some not very wise thing for example. one behind their backs pass that goes directly out - not so smart when you've been behind the whole game and have a chance to get to -2 goals.
Mathilde Juncker will be our next NT goalkeeper, Pytnak might as well take her right away :-)
My U14 girls team would have done better Pytnak !!!

Here is a little video of some of the 1992-generation players (not much clips found of Heindahl and Aagaard, so they aren't included), it's not so great quality cause of the clips available - but i hope you can enjoy it a little anyway: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzCAIQz8FbY&hd=1 :)

Concerning the new beginning of danish NT, I think Jane Schumacher (24yo) deserves to be selected.
She's doing very good games with her team Skive FH and Denmark needs to try another playmaker.

Kristina Kristiansen showed good things at the EC, so she's clearly the first choice for me.
But behind "Mulle", I must admit I fear for the mental of Lotte Grigel and the physical condition
of Lærke Møller. Lotte is a very good playmaker but she stressed too much in Serbia and Lærke
must work a lot of her physic because she still looks so fragile unfortunately.

Please Pytlick, give a chance to Jane and select her for the next Golden League in Paris !

The new NT coach Klavs Bruun has called an extra GK for the gathering that starts tomorrow, Stine Bonde, since Sandra Toft is apparently very tired. So the team now looks like this (Line Jørgensen, Rikke Poulsen and Mette Tranborg all injured so Dalby and Anne Cecilie De La Cour has also been called instead of them):

GKs:

Sandra Toft, Larvik HK
Christina Elm, København Håndbold
Cecilie Greve, HC Odense
Stine Bonde Aagaard, Silkeborg-Voel

Wings:

Maibritt Kviesgaard, Team Esbjerg
Trine Østergaard, FCM Håndbold
Anne Mette Pedersen, København Håndbold
Maria Fisker, Viborg HK
Ann Grete Nørgaard, Team Tvis Holstebro
Fie Woller, FCM Håndbold

LPs:

Mette Gravholt, Viborg HK
Susan Thorsgaard, FCM håndbold
Stine Bodholdt Nielsen, Team Esbjerg
Louise Svalastog Spellerberg, København Håndbold
Kathrine Heindahl , Randers HK

Backs:

Lærke Møller, Team Tvis Holstebro
Kristina Kristiansen, Team Tvis Holstebro
Lotte Grigel, Team Esbjerg
Anne Cecilie D. La Cour, Silkeborg-Voel.
Louise Burgaard, Viborg HK
Camilla Dalby, Budocnost
Stine Jørgensen, FCM Håndbold
Anne Mette Hansen, København Håndbold
Rikke Skov, Viborg HK
Pernille Holmsgaard, København Håndbold

There are apparently no testmatches, they will spend some days in Brøndby then head to Fuertaventura for training and getting to know each other.

Once again Danish NT is in a fase where the team needs to be rebuild. This time with a different coach.
Last night in TV2 sport, there was some discussion about who might be included (Klavs Bruun was present as well).

Trine Jensen mentioned Tranborg, Haugsted and Rej as players, she sees some potential in.

Klavs seemed to agree about Tranborg ofc and also Rej (if she keeps it up like in second half of season). He wasn't asked about Haugsted. But it made me wonder, who to leave out, if Haugsted should be included, cause AM Hansen and Stine Jørgensen is right now the strongest spot on Danish NT IMO?

Then Klavs also said he'd like to train a club team with some Danish NT players in, like other foreign NT coaches are doing, since it would give him more time to work with the NT players.

What do people think about all this? Who would you like to see included?

So Klavs Bruun wants to coach a women's club..good luck with that :)

He won't be fired, they have made that clear.

I think it's not a bad idea, since for many years now, it has been one of the Danish NT's big problems, that they simply don't get enough time together. Ofc, there are arguments against it too. And anyways, it won't happen since Wilbek already today said that DHF won't allow it:
