Sanja Vujović (Damnjanović) is pregnant again and consequently ends her career at the age of 33.
A great shooter at her peak and one of my all time favourite players. A bit of a shame she didn't do more in the last few seasons, but it was a nice career nevertheless.

So I guess the universe is going to implode if Andrea Lekić and Kristina Liščević find themselves on the same team.

Re: Availability for National Team
I'm honestly surprised so many big names are throwing in the towel with the Tokyo Olympics being this close. There's Sand, although in her (?) case it's a bit more understandable, Alm and now Groot. None of them have won an Olympic medal and it's not an impossible goal, so I'm a bit perplexed they'r...

South Korea seems to be regressing, based on these results? God, we cannot afford to lose another top non-European team.

Ivory Coast already out? They used to be one of the best African teams a while ago.
African handball is so volatile. It seems like one year you're on top, the next time you're not even playing. It's almost fascinating in a way.

Grzyb was completely heartbroken after the game against Sweden and my heart broke for her too. She had truly given it her all. And that idiotic teammate of hers that straight up KICKED a Swedish player to warrant a suspension just when Poland was about to turn the match around deserves to be banned ...

Gro Hammerseng's take on current injury problems in handball: https://www.tv2.no/sport/10243459 An absolutely fantastic read. I don't know if Google Translate can convey it properly, but give it a try. The sentence that stood out the most for me was: "If you've been feeling pain for long enough...

Gosh, Petrova is ancient. Russia seriously doesn't have another pivot to replace her?
A change in the Serbian squad, Jelena Trifunović is injured and replaced by Jovana Kovačević.

Re: 2018/19 Champions League - Group Phase - Round 1
But Scandinavian players have always focused a lot on their education and "civil" careers, that's nothing new. And quite frankly, that's a very healthy perspective when you consider how many players from eastern Europe sustain career-ending injuries in their mid-20s and have no idea what t...

What's up with Jovana Kovačević? She had a promising start to the season, but she hasn't played the last couple of matches and she's not on the Serbian NT roster for the friedlies against Slovenia either. Is she injured?

Her name is actually Maja Mihajlov. I'm guessing "Zmaja" is her nickname/play on words (zmaj = dragon in Serbian). Apparently, she's a centre back, born in 1995, used to play in some lower league teams in Serbia before moving to Hungary and according to her Instagram has a rather cute boyf...

I think he'll only lead the men's team in these friendlies against Germany. Anyway, the men's team is a lost cause. We should focus all the attention on this generation of women because they're the last ones able to make a decent result, after they're gone, we might as well shut down the handball in...

Oh, God, that is SO annoying. It seems like whenever a young player is starting to really impose herself, she's gets sidelined with a serious injury.
