Re: Olympic Games - 1/4 Finals

Are you serious? I thought Iceland were just as lucky in many situations. Like Nagy hitting the bar 2 seconds before the end off the 1 ET. And many weird calls by the ref. Maybe you overestimated the strenght of group A and Iceland? And underestimated the strenght of group B and Hungary ? Besides h...

Re: Olympic Games - 1/4 Finals

I don't know what to say. Hungary played fantastically and all, but those last seconds in regular time were such a goddamn stroke of luck for Hungary... Give your goalkeeper a pat on the back. He won this game for you. You know, this is just typical. This is a goddamn trademark scenario for the Icel...

Re: Olympic Games - 1/4 Finals

Might as well do this probability thing now.

Iceland - Hungary 65/35

Denmark - Sweden 45/55
There's potential for a huge performance overlap in favour of either team, but I do think Sweden is slightly more likely to win this.

France - Spain 60/40

Croatia - Tunisia 85/15

Re: Olympic Games - 1/4 Finals

None said Sweden is terrible. I really enjoyed watching them in the group stage. Ekberg is a great winger. one of the best in this tournament. What I mean is saying Denmark is favourite to win doesn't mean Sweden is terrible. It is just Denmark is strong enough to beat Sweden. Apart from their weir...

Thanks for the easy semi final.

#-o It's this kind of attitude that makes me wonder if you've ever watched the Icelandic team in a tournament before. You should know by now that Iceland is prone to upsets.

Re: Olympic Games - Round 5

Croatia is strong but they are in the easiest group. Well, then how do you call the strength of a group where Iceland can be groupwinner? There is a great chance for Denmark, Croatia, Spain, Hungary semi-finals IMO! ;) Great chance? I really don't see it. Not only is Iceland in great form, b...

Re: Olympic Games - Round 4

I really don't have the words to describe this game. It was amazing. Better than the game against Sweden. And it's about damn time that Iceland wins this team. Now Spain just needs to win Hungary, and Iceland will meet either them or Serbia in the quarter-finals. And while those are not teams to be ...

Re: Olympic Games - Round 4

Wow... I don't think I've ever seen Denmark play so badly. I was looking at some statistics, and I saw something interesting. Denmark hasn't lost so badly to any team since 1999, and that was against Spain. What's even more interesting is that Denmark hasn't lost a match this big in a major competit...

Re: Olympic Games - Round 4

Sigh yes I obviously knew this, but nobody is seriously injured besides Runar Karason. I am pretty sure Aron and Alexander are over their injuries considering how well they played against sweden. Snorri and Arnor's injuries are not extremely severe, it may limit their play time, but I am pretty sur...

Re: Olympic Games - Round 4

About the France-Iceland game bookmakers do at the moment have 75/25 on the line. +-2.5 on the hcp In relation. On paper Iceland is 'weaker' than France, and previous results are also in this. But keep in mind that you are seeing an Icelandic team without injuries. A team you haven't seen since 200...

Re: Olympic Games - Round 4

I honestly don't expect a win from Iceland against France. Don't get me wrong, it would be awesome and all, and it is definitely possible, but I just don't expect it. Even though France hasn't had the confidence they displayed before Denmark's combo-breaker. They're not dominant anymore, but they're...

Re: Olympic Games - Round 3

By Merlin's beard, that game was fantastic. Iceland almost screwed up the game in the last few minutes (with help from the refs) after overplaying the Swedes, but they made it. Gotta give props to the Swedes though, they didn't give up. Aron Palmarsson is well on his way to becoming the MVP of the ...

Re: Olympic Games - Round 3

The Hungarians have a history of successfully fending off major teams like Spain, France and Croatia, so I'm not putting anything past them. I expect a close game.

Re: Olympic Games - Round 2

I think Hungary is going to have a hard time against South Korea no matter what. They usually do against fast, technical teams. But this is one of those crucial games in the fight over the 4th place, so I'm not going to assume anything. By the way, Iceland pretty much ran over Tunisia, although they...

Re: Olympic games 1 round matches

American's are a lot better at throwing the ball and running, than dribbling and such. Yes, the way they're so bad at basketball is definitely an indicator of their poor dribbling skills... Oh, wait... not the case. ;) The level of the American handball championship is - in all honesty and with all...

Re: Debate me in any men's handball related discussion!

I'd like to know your thoughts on the two rising South American teams (Argentina and Brazil.) Do you think they have what it takes to become medal contenders inter-continentally in perhaps a generation? I kind of think so.

Re: Olympic Games London

Runar Karason got injured. He'll be out of play for probably 3 months at the very least, which means he'll miss the Olympics. All I can say is... damn it. He's probably the most promising newcomer Iceland has had since Aron Palmarsson. I'm worried about the right back position to say the least. Now ...

Well keep in mind that they basically had home advantage in 2008, I haven't really heard a lot from them since. China is huge. The distance between Beijing and Seoul is pretty much the same as the distance between Copenhagen and Paris (flying distance, not driving distance, since South Koreans obvi...

Re: Olympic Games London

All this teams, except SK, may end up on the first or fifth place. I am amazed that this mentality towards the South Korean team still exists. While it's not exactly one of the giants, this team has upset many very strong European teams throughout the years. Their best tactic is to exploit it when ...
