I just want to remind everyone that friendly games are not a reliable way to measure how good a team is.

Re: Friendly Games
No i just saw you saying they will surprise the world after good friendly, no hard feelings, you will probablly be right for 2015 since i see this junior nt had good results. And El Ahmar really scored some fantastic goals, if he play close to this on WC he will probably move soon to Europe, but i ...

This only works in certain locations, and Norway is not one of them. I'm definitely not paying 40 Euros to watch this through a proxy.

2013 WCh broadcasters?
I'll be in Norway at the time of the championship, so I need to know in advance what TV channels will broadcast the tournament. I can't find a list anywhere, which is pretty annoying. Can anyone help?
I don't want to have to watch a livestream.

Re: WCH 2013 Spain
Well s**t. Stefánsson pulled himself out of the team due to an old injury. That makes three injured right backs.
I have no idea what happens now. Hallgrímsson is the only experienced right back available, and the fact that Arnór Atlason is also injured doesn't help.

Re: WCH 2013 Spain
I always thought Petersson played RW for Iceland :? Do you happen to know who Iceland's main choice for RW (Ólafsson or Hallgrímsson)? Petersson used to play in the wing because him and Stefánsson worked so well together. He and Hallgrímsson are both primarily right back players. As for the right w...

Re: WCH 2013 Spain
Ólafur Stefánsson is on the team because the right back position lost two key players ( Alexander Petersson and Rúnar Kárason) to injuries. :?: He is on the list you posted and he played for Rhein-Neckar their last two games (including yesterday vs Göppingen), so is he lost due to injurie or not? P...

Re: WCH 2013 Spain
Here's the 23 players the coach of Iceland has chosen. Ólafur Stefánsson is on the team because the right back position lost two key players (Alexander Petersson and Rúnar Kárason) to injuries. Goalkeepers: Aron Rafn Eðvarðsson, Haukar Björgvin Páll Gústavsson, Magdeburg Daníel Freyr Andrésson, FH H...

Re: WCH 2013 Spain
HEY WHY IS EVERYONE IGNORING THE NEW TOURNAMENT FORMAT? This isn't just going back to 2007 back when they had quarter finals. No, they're eliminating the Main Round altogether, so we're going to see 16 teams move straight to knockout matches! I'm looking forward to Iceland-Denmark. Usually when thes...

I'm crossing my fingers here, hoping Iceland's performance in the WCh's last year wasn't just a string of luck.
I'd actually like to think we have a chance against Montenegro tomorrow. Not sure how far-fetched it is, though.

In the internet are only available this teams I mentioned in first posts. Maybe some other possible in archive newspapers as you said. Honestly I thought there was no official all-star teams before. Just this 1995 is missing in German wikipedia(there are only some players like Richardson on CB and ...

Re: All-stars teams - Olympics, World Champs, Euro
By the way I read in some Icelandic portal(of course I don't understand much of this) that Petersson was 4th Icelander to enter all-star team at World Championship after Bjarki Sigurðsson, Valdimar Grimsson and Geir Sveinsson . He is missing on the lists I've found. It means he was propably All-sta...

Apparently some of the players could go to jail for 3-5 years over this. Onesta has apparently left Karabatic out of the national team in their next games.

Was Egyptian handball affected at all by the Arab Spring? Honest question. Things like this usually either crush national teams (f.x. Soviets, Romanians,) or strengthen them.

2012 Olympic All-Star Team
Left wing: Jonas Kallman (SWE)
Pivot: Julen Aguinagalde (ESP)
Right wing: Ivan Cupic (CRO)
Left back: Aron Palmarsson (ISL)
Centre back: Nikola Karabatic (FRA)
Right back: Kim Andersson (SWE)

I'm going to reserve my thoughts on this team for later.

Re: France vs Sweden (The Final)
It's scary how similar Sweden's situation is to Iceland's situation in Beijing. They went into the tournament far from being favourites for the gold, but they still manage to reach the finals, which just so happens to be against France. Furthermore, Sweden will not be participating in the next Worl...

Seriously, what was the point of this? There are more people from Iceland than just him, and we're not all loud trolls, so stop being rude.
I really hope Hungary make it into the final. I always have to root for the underdog.

I know this is complete crap, as individuals do not represent an entire country, but I still feel the need to apologize on behalf of all Icelanders for the behavior of my countryman here. Furthermore, I recognize that our Icelandic team (that is, the team we've had these last 4 years) is not among t...

Thanks for your support! :) I also think we dominated the whole match against Iceland, leading most of the time. Undeserved 2 min and 7m at the end of regular time for Iceland but thanks for Fazekas. True that we need luck to win a match after 2 extra times. But we played our best game at the Olymp...
