Any win is great for this team, especially against such a strong team like Romania. If we take into account that we're not there with our absolutely best team it's even more impressive.
I might be crazy but I really do think that our team can beat anyone if they set their mind to it. That's why this is a nice surprise but I did not think it impossible. IMO, only two teams stand out from the rest of the world at the moment, and that's Norway and Russia. I'd put all the rest pretty much in the same boat.
I realize many would disagree. :)

lokomotivafan says:
And one more thing: Why didn't he call Naukovic to the team? They all wanted to give her citizenship so much, and now that she has it he doesn't call her???? Especially since he knew that Arslanagic wouldn't be available for Riesa. I'm not a big fan of Naukovic, I think young Penezic deserves her chance, she could be a class player in a few years, but Marina would be a reasonable substitution. It's not like we have 20 world clacc left backs in the country.[/quote]

Naukovich can play for Croatia since December 2006, because she take the medal for Russia in Dec 2003, and she must waiting 3years to play for another country.

But this is not official tournament, so she can play. That would have been a perfect opportunity to work on the teamwork in the NT.

Maybe there is some connection with her signing a contract with Kometal?
As I know, she hasn't signed anything with Podravka... and she is always mentioned in the speculation for the next season here.

If you ask me, I don't want her in our team, just to make it clear :)

We were in the lead the whole match. 3 minutes before the end we were up 23:21. Spain scored 3 goals in a row while we wern't able to do the same. :?
Despite this defeat I'm satisfied with this turnament. We beat Romania, one of the best teams in the world, and were very close to winning in the other two matches. Portugal here we come. :D

I think every match is official, not just the qulification matches or the big competitions. So, friendlies are official too.

But I agree, let her play for Croatia

I'm glad we lost this last game, too. The NT-players were all dreaming about another medal at the comming EC not taking into consideration that they must first get there!!!... and SCG is on paper a much more stronger team than Germany and Croatia.... and Tadici should get a grip...what are all the Silcotub players doing in the NT???...and Demeterca?...she's slower than turtle..

OK, so that's just not true!!! I don't know who have told that but it's a lie! She had an interview some days ago (on a local radio), and she said that she is satisfied with her performance in the club and that it is all that she can do... She said that playing for the NT is something great, also mentioned that she was the captain...
On the other side, when a reporter asked her about the problems she had while she was suspended, she didn't want to say a word, even when he insisted, she didn't say any word against anyone, not even your coach Sojat...

I don't have anything from this, but she is not a person on whom people should make stories... It is just not right!

I've never talked about this but not even Sojat was "NICE" with her while Podravka was in Podgorica. There were also 9 people from Podravka (fans of Podravka) who were watching the match from the first row in Moraca (near one of the goals), and they were telling her the ruddest things on this planet-she didin't have any reaction. Reportes asked her if she expected those words from people who cheered podravka, and if she was angry- she just said "No, they just love their team and it's all right". And those words you will not hear even on the English football court... trust me on this, I was there!!!
So... I wish people have some more respect

blah blah blah.. many stories, so little truth...
all people in koprivnica and all podravka fans know te real truth...

budućnost wanted gabriela tanase and she agreed. she went to podgorica. but tanase is lesbian and she has a girlfriend - SANELA KNEZOVIĆ. in a few minutes sanela packed her stuff and ESCAPED from koprivnica following her dearest lover to montenegro. podravka put a complaint to ehf becasue the contract between sanela and podravka was still active. but, shhe escaped...

yeah, that's the real truth. no respect for such players...
bad girls kick ass!!!

HAHAHAHA

Noone asked you to believe anything. Or to respest someone. Maybe someone doesn't respect you, or me. You can have your opinion, as I can have mine. I don't have anything from this... I'm not Croatian, I don't have anything from the thing she plays or doesn't play for YOUR national team.

And the second.... You can mind lesbians also...your right, I don't...
But I have to dissapoint you, Sanela has a boyfriend and it's not Gabriela...

Also you don't have to trust...

With this I'm going to finish my replies about Sanela... As I said I don't have anything from it.

No need to tell me about this. The things I heard some Podravka fans yell to some players are just unbelievable, I've never in my life heard such hate from any other fans. Many Podravka fans are great but unfortunately this loud minority is very hard to ignore and forget.

All I know about Sanela is that she's currently our best goalkeeper, she was the captain of our NT and one of the most popular players in Croatia. It's a fact that all that changed the moment she wanted to leave Koprivnica for Podgorica. There were a lot of bad things said about her at that time but she never said a word about the whole thing.

We miss her on our NT and I would like to see her back.

Wow, Kristina Franic selected as best player of the turnament. :D

Congratulations to our girls!

I cant stop thinking that if we are able to play against almost everybody at this point (and win also), how strong would we be with
Naukovic playing for our team?

Or if Sojat weren't so stubborn and decide to call upon Knezovic!

Or if Sojat actually would give Saric chance to play, only
Croatian NT player who is playing CL semifinals this year! She
played EVERY match in this years Champions League for her
Spanish club and in Croatian NT she is on the bench all the
time?!

Since Sojat came as coach of our NT our 2 players with best
rating in Europe this year Knezovic and Saric were only reserve
players sitting on the bench, and Knezovic now is not even in
NT...

They both didn't go to WC in Russia with our NT because of Sojats
hard head.
Really sad.

We should fight for medals and instead of that we are doing
everything to ruin this generation...

What will happen when Arslanagic and Golubic go to play abroad?
They will also become reserve players, or even they will not be
invited in the NT?!

Really nice moves Mr Sojat!

She plays maximum 10 minutes per match for her team (in CL), according to the informations we have here on the forum and from what we saw when Sagunto and Kometal played.

I will say again (but in another words):
I feel sorry for that team where the pivot is the best player (in this case Saric – like some of you claim)

I think we'll never find out. My guess is a "third" person.

She plays more then 10 min, but according to her performances she should be playing much more then 10 minutes...

For example: According to Kometal statistics on your webpage Platon is your player with the most blocked shots in CL: 8, and Saric who plays in our team much less time then Platon in your team ( if I remember correctly Platon is playing defence all the time) has 6 blocks in CL matches!
Just one example what we are talking about.

I agree with you that Astroc hasn't got such good players to use good pivot like Saric more, but if you...

then I feel sorry for team who was beaten by that same team in the CL quarterfinals.
