Boris CHIZHOV no longer the headcoach of the Ukrainian women's NT.

Former well-known player Nataliya LYAPINA is the main candidate to take the team over.

Helle Thomsen stops as national coach of the Dutch Women's team: https://www.handbal.nl/nieuws/16/oranje ... damesteam/

"Actually, it is because I am too ambitious and goal oriented. I want to optimize on all fronts to achieve bigger goals for the team, " explains Helle Thomsen.

Are Silver and Bronze not big enough? Who else could satisfy those wishes? :-k
idle banter.

^ Well, this comes as a real shock to me...

She wants back to CSM Bucharest maybe :D? What bigger challenge than a team out of shape, with poor & politicized management and lacking Neagu and Kurtović?

Didn't she extend her contract with Molde a few weeks ago? Although I don't know how Molde fits in with the "bigger goals" mantra in the first place. :-k
idle banter.

Mneah ....I shouldn"t afford such presumtion unless I know something in this direction...but it is possible to come as a TRIAD (one coach and 2 great players to whom she has good conection : dutch-danish-norske players).

Why would she want to come back to a club whose management treated her like dirt less than a year ago? :-"

Because man itself, is such a complicated being...and perhaps she hope in CL - F4 qualifying...and now situation (nobody in CSM ask for more than this...) the pressure is more relaxed.

@all: It was just a [silly] joke, that's why I put those smilies.

Anyway, wherever she decides to go next, I wish her most of luck. She did a very good job with the Dutch team.

Having read more than once the statements why Helle Thomsen decided to leave it 's still not 100% clear why she decided to leave.

I read and hear in interviews given "Actually I am to ambitious and goal oriented. I want to optimise on all fields to achieve bigger goals for the team".

If you achieve in 2 years follwing results: EC2016 #2, WC2017 #3 and EC2018 #3 I would say these reults are satistying although the ultimate goal Gold was not achieved.
It seemed she did not ask for more salary but for better boundary conditions as staff members and training facilities, that of course would imply more money and that is not available for Handball in Holland.

^^ <-- Silviu tag

I heard somewhere (can't remember where now) that they want to have a replacement by the end if this month. So in the next few days...

Groener gone - Thomsen & Groot gone - I think the Dutch now wished they hadn't let Groener go so easily. :-k
idle banter.

Ambros Martin prolonged with Rostov.

Actually it means that 1+1 will be a 2 years contract at least.

Well, he'll combine it with something because the Dutch fed aren't gonna throw money after a full-time coach

I am sure the Dutch Fed would have no problems paying for and investing in a full-time coach.
But remember we are talking about The Netherlands, we do not have a professional women league, the Federration does not have money, we just happen to have some women handball players that play abroad and are not that bad.
Do not forget, Holland is a poor underdeveloped country which is perfectly illustrated with the example of the Dutch Handball Federation ;) :^o .
