So does Denmark, I've just read it. And I'm sure Romania does as well.
Maybe they'll make a compromise and give it to Uruguay. :p

Actually it would be "most fair" if the tournament was on neutral ground. Uruguay though is a bit far away :)

The other 3 nations would have a huge advantage if hosting, they can all mobilize a big homecrowd...

Wouldn't it be really cool if Tunisia, Uruguay and Mexico hosted the tournaments? No home advantage, totally fair, expanding handball to new markets + players get to have a bit of a holiday.
IHF should really consider it.

I was thinking about this. Added to this, no travel-related problems for Uruguay and Mexico.

The Romania/Denmark/Montenegro tournament will take place in Denmark, according to the Romanian media.

Once again, the IHF Mafia strikes.

Ok, I understand they give to France due to NED's ban.
But Poland and Romania should have organized these QTs. Because they won this right on court!
 Now i just hope Hungary will switch to Uruguay or Mexico and Russia or Denmark will stay home (preferably both), whatever Romania will do.

Well, it was never officialy stated that WCh placement gives hosting rights, we just assumed that based on previous editions.

like in the case of Germany and Serbia which have been awarded wildcards. if this takes place in Denmark, it`s gonna be injustice to Romania!

Yes Joana, but Denmark simply don't deserve. They've already hosted WCH, where their team had this home advantage. Now again?! Why not Montenegro? Why not Uruguay? I don't see any reason to give to Denmark again. IHF should have settled a rule before (like in previous editions), not giving right host where they gain more revenues.

why economic reason? Romania wants to host it at Cluj. nice arena which would be full, international airport and the most important thing - FUNDS (FRF wants it).

it seems that the corruption is at the highest level. the IHF is North African, not civilised.

@ Oltchim

why Montenegro or Uruguay? Romania won this right and these k**f scumbags now changed the criteria!

France as organiser is clear because of the ban of Holland until 2017 If I am Right. Besides Dutch Handball association already stated they were not able to find a hall with capacity > 4.000 and think they just do not have the money to organise.

For group 2 and 3 Romania and Poland seems logical besed upon WC results but nowehere in the rules or procedures you can find that WC3 and WC4 will get the right to organise the OQT.

Schedule is also weird. If tournaments are played between 17-20 March, it means the teams will be playing 5 matches (4 really strong ones) in a 10-11 days space. This is because the home and away ECh 2016 qualification matches between the top seeded team in each group are played on 9/10 and 12/13 March.

Namely: Montengro - Croatia, Denmark - Russia, Romania - Norway, Poland - Hungary, Spain - Netherlands.

Obviously not that big of a stress for Netherlands and France (who faces Germany) since they've more or less secured their OG spot.

It's even more outrageous that there isn't even a competition for the event, they just giving it to another country.

Some statements in romanian press:

Aurelia "Mica" Bradeanu after she heard rumours that DEN will host QT: "What reasons IHF have in order to give organization right to them? I'm really shocked! What are the criteria? Just because they are named Denmark, Russia, France?

Oana Manea: "It's not normal! But we will fight with more ambition now. Perhaps they prefer to beat Denmark at their home."

Assistant coach Costica Buceschi still hopes these rumours are not true.
Also FRH president said he intend to request from IHF some explanations, again, if these rumours will prove to be true.

Wilbek spoke on Danish TV already during the tournament (before the last matches) about the IHF not necessarily going by placement order. This was before the last matches...

So perhaps someone should have kept themselves better informed?

NB: this reminds me of when DK and RUS thought they'd get a qualspot for WCH by winning 5th place in 2012..

Yeah, it was known in advance that placement on WCh doesn't necessarily equal hosting the qualifying tournaments. It shouldn't be a surprise.
Now, it's not fair, they should spread it around more and Romania and Poland should definitely have the precedence if they are interested, but that's how governing bodies in sports work. Qualifying tournaments in volleyball are always in Japan, in basketball they're handing out actual wild cards for qualifying and so on.

^ ok masch1, but what means for you "better informed"? If you are, then tell us which are criteria for hosting a QT. Because nobody found in IHF regulations. IHF keeps this secret and will give this right to their coffee partners, without any criteria? It's OK from your point of view?

Knowing the IHF current politics, latest version of their competitions regulations, and their latest decisions regarding most recent 2015 Men's and Women's WCh participatns; am I the only who is not surprised at all, that they are going to select the hosts within a process which is most suitable for their marketing?!?

All in all, nobody can say that we were not aware of what is happening now... :| And this is the way how IHF can argue over and over again.

Polish and Danish federations just announced (based on IHF's official communiqué):

Olympic Qualification Tournament #1 confirmed to be hosted by France.
Olympic Qualification Tournament #2 to be hosted by Denmark.
Olympic Qualification Tournament #3 to be hosted by Russia.

What I mean is that, clearly some federations didn't assume that order of placement would bring hosting rights or Wilbek wouldn't have said this in advance. So perhaps someone in romanian federation should have paid closer attention as the danish and russian federations should in 2012?
I think it would have been a pretty fair criteria to go by order of placement but as nothing was stated, you can't blame other teams that their federation is working to get the best solution. Or you think the romanian federation wouldn't have done the same?

And ref is right, you have just won in front of 12000 people, so I think we can assume the danish homecourt pretty neutral...
