Does anyone know how are the quarter-finals to be paired? and the semi's afterwards? I can't seem to find anything official ...
Thanks :)

Regarding surprises - maybe Sweden and Romania. If there's one big team that we can win against, that's Brazil. The players know each-other all too well

The surprise would actually be Denmark winning in that match. Sweden looks better than Denmark this tournament

Serbia and Romania can make a surprise . But with what i have seen Serbia has more chances than Romania.

My guess:
1. Montenegro 100% vs Angola 0%
2. Hungary 95% vs Poland 5%
3. Netherlands 60% vs Serbia 40%
4. Sweden 45% vs Denmark 55%
5. Brazil 70% vs Romania 30%
6. France 65% vs Spain 35%
7. Russia 65% vs Korea 35%
8. Norway 80% vs Germany 20%

I think Hungary could upset Russia in the quarterfinals

Spain France in the 1/8 as well.

At least 2 surprises? That means it's more likely with 3 contra just one. That really scares me, as Germany then must be one of them according to this list...and they have done it before...HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will all due respect, I can't see Germany winning over Norway. Norway look so strong, even now
and Germany with no key-player

1. Montenegro vs Angola (80% - 20%)
2. Hungary vs Poland (65% - 35%)
3. Netherlands vs Serbia (51% - 49%) - Netherlands is def. stronger than Serbia, but they lack experience at this level. Serbia has a fantastic team-fighiting attitude.
4. Sweden vs Denmark (55% - 45%). Sweden is just better this time
5. Brazil vs Romania (51% - 49%). Brazil didn't look particularly strong, and the Romanian girls will fight to make up for their catastrophal start
6. France vs Spain (51% - 49%). France look better, but the Spaniards are in for a fight.
7. Russia vs Korea (55% - 45%). Russia is the strongest team this year, but Korea plays differently and smart. Plus, Russians have always had problems with them.
8. Norway vs Germany (70% - 30%). Germany can't beat Norway this tournament, it would be a miracle otherwise.

So my ''surprises'' are: Serbia, Romania, Spain, and Korea.

Depends what you call a surprise. Norway, Russia and Montenegro should cruise to the next round.
The other matches are very balanced, with Hungary and Netherlands slight favorites.

The most impressive teams up until now have been Russia, Norway and Montenegro, but not all of them can be in the 1/2.
What I like about them:
Russia: sheer force and good defense overall; lots of backline solutions, despite the pivot problem
Norway: they have to be the fastest attacking side out there. I thought Romania's slow in defense, but they were moving Spain side to side so easily and they open gaps everywhere in front of them. I like what Hergeirsson's done with this team - it's more than fast break only!
Montenegro: haven't seen a lot of them, but it seems more or less Budu structure and cohesion, so has to be good stuff.

The only other team that can upset Russia and Norway, in my opinion, is France.

Germany will fight big against Norway, you will see the class of Vestergaard even though at the end it might be a failure. but the Germans will make a very good game.

no idea if Romania has chances even though there was 8 goal win at Carpathian Trophy.

Serbia has no chances against the Netherlands. I guarantee. the Dutch girls will lead all the game.

Don't worry, let's compare the facts Germany vs. Norway:

Germany: 1 player playing in the Champions League this season
Norway: 6 players currently playing in the Champions League this season (playing for the top teams as well)

Germany: No TV coverage at all (not even some tiny highlights)
Norway: One of the most important sporting events in December

Germany: Usually semi professional players
Norway: Mostly full time professional players

Germany: A federation which mainly cares about mens handball
Norway: A federation which cares about boths womens and mens handball equaly (not their fault that their men aren't as successful as their womens team)

Germany: Few fans turning up in Kolding to watch them play
Norway: Lots of fans supporting them wherever they go

So anything other than a Norwegian win would be embarrassing.

Many exciting matches ahead, and some will be just nervewrecking :)

1. Montenegro vs Angola +10 -Well, you can bet on this, but I don't think any betting companies would give more than your money back...

2. Hungary vs Poland +5 -Hungary can melt down, but not this time.

3. Netherlands vs Serbia +5 -Serbia missing so many key players, it's utterly hopeless, although it's "only" Netherland, hehe :)

4. Sweden vs Denmark -There are so little to adjust to turn Denmark from losing to winning matches, it's laughable. They stress too much, and with that making stupid mistakes, that cost them the match. Now if they lose against Sweden they are also out of OG, making this match even more important...not so good for anyone nerves I guess :)
This is a make or break for Denmark, and if they can cool down a bit, they will win, it's that easy. Question is...will they grow up and show how wonderful team they really have, or be like headless chickens, desperate trying to hang on to Sweden :)

5. Brazil vs Romania +5 -Well, if Romania wins that would be a surprise, and then we have only one more surprise left according to the statistics :)

6. France vs Spain -Whatever result, there would be no surprise really. Wide open.

7. Russia vs Korea +15 -I have now watched GER-KOR, and that was shocking. Korea looked like 16 years old against grown up adults, and Germany could do whatever they wanted with them, being taller and much stronger. Korea could only threat Germany when they had one more player, and they did so too with at least +2 goals for every period, and Germany got a lot of suspensions 1st half.
Russia have more or less the same physics as Germany, and with a team of backcourt players that just jump in the air and shoot, there is no way Korea can stop that...and their GK's suck in the end.
Russia will beat this Korea easily, and it's impossible we can have any other surprise here. So then there is only one match left where the surprise can come...

8. Norway vs Germany -Jesus Christ, after watching Germany in action for the first time, I say this will be the match where the second surprise occurs. Everyone in Norway is happy with Germany, and newspapers are now talking about how the path to gold might be... I hope the girls don't read any news, or are even allowed to be interviewed by stupid journalist talking about chances for yet another gold. CRAZY!!!!
Germany will be our end, and it's not the first time. They found their game in the second half against Korea, stealing the ball, either from the defense, or their fantastic GK Katja Kramarczyk, with a contra attack even the fast Koreans had to let go. Norway too? I guess so, hope not ofc.
God, this match will be so much more exciting than anyone realize, as we will struggle in attack, while Germans score easily.
Time to find that stockpile of valium I bought after Møbelringen cup :)

Well, if their only player in CL happens to be GK Katja Kramarczyk, then it's a comfort. If not, then it really doesn't matter.

Germany: No TV coverage at all (not even some tiny highlights)
Norway: One of the most important sporting events in December

We cannot help them winning by watching TV...

Germany: Usually semi professional players
Norway: Mostly full time professional players

That is a comfort :)

Germany: A federation which mainly cares about mens handball

That won't help them winning this match...

Germany: Few fans turning up in Kolding to watch them play
Norway: Lots of fans supporting them wherever they go

The fans aren't playing...they better boo at Germany or we will lose for sure...don't think it happens as we are "too good" for that s**t.

So anything other than a Norwegian win would be embarrassing.

Seriously? Time to wake up!

No, it's Schmelzer. And she usually sits on the bench.

It's about the bigger picture. It shows what a fringe sport it is in Germany and how it really is another world compared to Norway.

Yes, time to wake up. All things considered, Norway MUST win this . :)
