Danish League 2017/2018

Postby maz » Sun Jul 09, 2017 10:19 am

We can just create a new topic @HB9 :D

HB9 wrote:Five players are leaving Ajax Kbh: http://www.europamester.dk/5-profiler-f ... iga-damer/

Isn't it a bit late to leave a club at this time of the year? Especially as some of them were top profiles for the club....

Oh yes, I am forced to write this in the 2016/2017 topic. :-"

Yeah it is a bit late, but I'm pretty sure most of these departures were expected - they just hadn't announced them. All the wings have been replaced by new players; Anna Grundtvig and Anne Tolstrup. Krogshede and Woller are difficult to replace and I don't think they have yet. Stine Nørklit will probably be their starter on the playmaker-position but they do not have any depth behind her.

"Truppen består af 19 spillere, heriblandt de tre helt unge spillere, Katrine Lange, Laura Kirchhoff Madsen og Lene Østergaard, som skal træne med ligatruppen et par gange om ugen i den nye sæson"

Jesper Jensen already sounds a whole lot more like a coach I like than Frederiksen ever did. These three players certainly deserves to be practicing with the League-squad and I really hope they will use them for some of their matches. Kathrine Lange is such a talented playmaker, she just needs to add some physique because her awareness is great. Østergaard is a physical left-back who is dangerous with her breakthroughs and 1v1 situations. Kirchoff is a right back with a great, great shot. They were a formidable backcourt for DUH-Esbjerg last season so glad it's being rewarded for them.

Vi får Mathilde Jørgensen til prøvetræning. Hun har spillet i 2. Bundesliga i Tyskland. Vi har været meget tæt på at lave andre aftaler, men det er glippet i sidste øjeblik.

Think he means Sørensen. :-"

Hey maz (a.k.a. "The only Dane left on h123" ), what does the last sentence mean? It sounds somewhat ambiguous in the translation.

Yeah, I'm trying to maintain somewhat of a danish presense on the site

The last sentence would roughly be translated to "We have been very close to making a few deals (with other players), but they fell through in the last second".

Last note on her. She won the Team Esbjerg summer 3000m competition in 11.31, and she has won it every year she has participated. Now they have given her the nickname "The white Kenyan"

Danish super cup :

Nykøbing Falster - Randers 30-23 (16-15)
NFH: Johanna Westberg 11, Kristina Kristiansen 9
Randers: Mari Molid 5, Maria Fisker 5

Quite polite defense on both sides, but Cecilie Greve and NFH defense improved most during second half for a win I guess.
I welcome your post with enthusiasm.Image

I'm very excited about the new season - especially with Aarhus-glasses on. Many of the talents I've liked for a long time and thought was very underappriciated are now playing for Aarhus, and the team certainly has a vision which was probably the thing Holmris' SK lacked in the end. It was just a bunch of players running around, playing handball as individuals. This certainly looks the part as a team and the city also seems to be behind this team more than the last. Right now I would predict Aarhus to get the last spot in the playoffs over Randers but that might look stupid when the regular season is over.

Other than that I am very excited to follow Viborg, Silkeborg and Esbjerg. For me those are the most interesting teams this season other than Aarhus. Viborg with the obvious Kristina Jørgensen-Uno connection, Silkeborg is going to feature Bendtsen, Lea Hansen, Emma Laursen, Laura Nielsen - not all at once but I am sure they will all see the field at some point, and Jesper Jensen is finally, finally, finally bringing Kathrine Lange into the first team squad. Lars Frederiksen obviously didn't want to, so thank God they changed coach and she can develop further now. Laura Kirchhoff will also be an interesting Esbjerg-player to follow.

All in all. Thankfully league-handball is back.

Certainly not the best start for Aarhus but it's too early to overreact. The seasons ago Aarhus beat everybody in september, only to play in the relegation matches anyway, so not much is decided here in september. I'm still very optimistic about the team but more players need to contribute. Pontoppidan, Simone Petersen and Birna Berg has been the stand out-players so far with Celine Holst also having played very well in shorter periods of time. That's obviously not enough. The biggest issue is obviously with the wings. Gandrup was never really a stand-out player in Aarhus, Louise Krisensen and Bøttger hasn't showed much yet. On the bright side the defense looks really solid so far.

In the 1st division I think Malene Mogensen and Louise Sønnichsen deserves to play in the league. There is no doubt about Mogensen and she might play in the league without transfering with a Hadsten-promotion. She is probably the most entertaining player to watch in Denmark and has been for a few years. Hopefully she will soon be introduced to the bigger handball-audience in Denmark. Louise Sønnichsen might be an overreaction on my part. She is new to 1st division even having previously played in Odder but she put on a show for AGF. One of the most dominant performances I have seen in a long, long time. If she can keep it up, bigger teams than AGF will come calling for her.

What a shame that Tarm-Foersum are closing their women's departement of the handball club. They have had some really good players and some exciting teams over the years. Their u18-team with Line Uno and following that their 1st division team with Uno, Janne Dahlmann and Helena Løjborg. That was a team that could trouble any team, and they played some fantastic handball. Also their u18-team that went to DM with Mathilde Neesgaard as the star. They are certainly leaving a mark on Danish handball, and that's pretty big for a club their size.

Some of these are very surprising to me, e.g. why is Odense so high? Why are Viborg and Randers so low?

What's up with van Olphen anyway? This site says she is out for the rest of the year: http://dhdb.hyldgaard-jensen.dk/klub.php?id=3023&tab=0

Will be interesting to see who will replace her with NED, if it's true.

The Dutch right back Sanne van Olphen is in full swing training after a knee injury, but she is probably only back at the turn of the year.

Polman is playing and doing it quite good. Last game against Viborg she scored 9 goals so I guess she is som back in her old shape befordrende pregnancy.

I have no idea why Randers is letting Frederikke Gulmark go. She is consistently one of their best players and she seems to be a great fit in the Agesen-offense. She has grown a ton after coming from the 1st division. I get letting Lærke C and other players who are clearly not a fit go, but it's mind-blowing for me that they cannot see how Gulmark can contribute. Hopefully she will rebound in a great team and if it was up to me, she wouldn't have to drive far. Aarhus could be a great destination for her but already stacked with players of her type.

Thomas Høst is a wanted man. Only 6 months after he started his work in Silkeborg, he has already agreed to join Team Esbjerg. You can say what you want about him but he probably the best in the business. All the places he has been, he has created a great talent department. He did it in SK, in a short amount of time he has created it in Silkeborg and he will for sure be monumental for Esbjerg.

It's certainly a very difficult job. It's difficult making talents go to Esbjerg when they don't have the same facilities other teams do around the city. It will be interesting to see what kind of talents he can bring to Esbjerg because his usual strategy is to bring in some top talents from outside and then the depth of the team will be made from local players.

Great move by Esbjerg and hopefully Høst will get some time in Esbjerg to develop the talent-culture. If one guy can do it, then it must be him.

The Fall All-Star team in the Danish League

Målvogter: Johanna Bundsen, København Håndbold 24,41 MEP
Venstre fløj: Ann Grete Nørgaard, Viborg HK 22,60 MEP
Venstre back: Stine Jørgensen, Odense Håndbold 31,10 MEP
Playmaker: Mia Rej, København Håndbold 41,41 MEP
Højre back: Stine Ruscetta Skogrand, Silkeborg-Voel KFUM 29,48 MEP
Højre fløj: Ayaka Ikehara, Nykøbing Falster Håndbold 18,51 MEP
Stregspiller: Sarah Iversen, Nykøbing Falster Håndbold 28,29 MEP

I think it would be more interesting to make a team of the best young players during this season. So where they obviously try to stay "objective" with their MEP-crap, this is just my opinion. Although I do think the team is pretty straightforward so far. Many position are not really that much up for debate.

GK: Althea Reinhardt
LW: Camilla Degn
LB: Kristina Jørgensen
PM: Simone Petersen
RB: Helene Fauske
RW: Henriette Hansen
LP: Ida-Marie Dahl
