Re: 2017/18 Champions League - Group Phase - Round 4
The level of the Russian league now is grotesque.
I have a recommendation for the EHF: please, but please increase the number of club in Champions League at least. If you really want improved level, do this. Why? Simply because if we will have for instance 3 teams from Russia all directly qualified, they will be kinda obliged indirectly to rise up the level of the players. The squads will be much better.
Imagine like this:
- 4 from Denmark
- 3 from Hungary
- 3 from Russia
- 2 from Norway
- 2 from Germany
- 2 from France
- 2 from Romania
- 1 from Montenegro
- 1 from Austria
- 1 from Macedonia
- 1 from Sweden
- 1 from Slovenia
- 1 from Croatia
- 1 from Spain
- 1 from Poland
- 1 FROM Turkey
We need at least 24, if not 32 clubs. The EHF Cup leave it 16, but we need 32 in CL. There are 27 and another 5 you can decide via playoffs, between BLR, even SRB, NED, CZE/SVK etc and if they don't want, 5 directly or based on invitations the rest. We would have 8 groups, then the knockout phase (1/16). Another 8 can join the other 8 in the 1/16 of EHF Cup.
Only 4 group format is too boring if you don't bring diversity. And you simply don't improve handball at all. It's worse than when we had Lada vs. Hypo finals overall.
Denmark and Hungary have good leagues now, they deserve more. And with also 3 for Russia, you will have the Russians back in handball. IMO in Romania we are also too bored only to watch CSM Bucharest in CL. The Hungarians and Danish fans also want more, look at football! You can still do it, for the 32 places of football much more, many fight. So 32 is affordable also in handball. Norway, Germany and France can also support every season 2 clubs in the most prestigious competition.
Don't you think is funny some are traveling by bus in 2017 when plane tickets aren't expensive at all? EHF is at the level of the 80s at maximum. Handball wasn't popularise, it's a bit regress. We used to have Bundesliga Women on Eurosport, Champions League and so on.
EHF lacks everything, you are far from basketball. You should still be 1/3 of basketball, even if Scandinavia isn't Turkey in terms of big countries.
It's sad one of the oldest team sports of Europe is at this level. We can see the Russians investing in volleyball, but there is also tradition in women's handball. I personally don't want to see 5 Russian billionaires investing in Russia, but I want to see compact and united Europe. Although worse would be Qatar PSG and if you don't do anything, this happens.
Women's handball lacks its history, traditional seasons. The prizes should be equal, in tennis are equal and women are not so watched as the men. But women's handball attracts a lot of views, popularity.

2010/2011 was the last season with over 30 clubs in the qualifying round. So where do we go? How do you stop the regress? Because the popularity looks to go down.
You killed Challenge Cup, it was a good decision but give them the possibility now to play against the bests.

How is Naidzinavicius lately, HB9 and others? Is she really that good? She's scoring like a machine. What about the level?

Lucky dog.
Comrade vlad
,
you are not going to increase the level of the Champions League by increasing the number of teams by such a huge margin. Such a move would also put additional strain on teams who do have a proper league in their country. Why should the EHF help Russia (or any other country for that matter) anyway?
And why 3 russian teams? No russian teams has asked for a wild card in the last for the past few years - evidently they aren't interested or they can't afford it. Either way, the 'level' is fine as it is, considering that some teams have gigantic financial possibilities and still sometimes struggle against some semi-professional opponents in the CL.
I believe quite a few 7m are counted into the stats as well. I don't know if she is really good, but for sure there are worse players in the CL.

In my opinion, Naidzinavicius is one of the best players of the world. World class in defense and in attack as well, great assists, nice goals.
In conclusion, I declare that EHF must be destroyed

Niombla was absent on today- match against Nykobing (also on last match on Liga Nationala)....she has back problems ans she is already in France . Majda was on Beograd with her shoulder problem and she was used by Helle around 5 min only but mainly in defence . Also few minutes were used Udristioiu,Bazaliu . Manea replaced Frafjord when Marit felt tired and did very well. All the team was at high levell. Congratulations !
On Ljubljana CSM will play for itself (2 golden points) but also for Nykobing(though pression will be great on Nykobing in home with Krim)

She was great when she played but Adzic forces Raicevic who makes the most mistakes. The worst player.
Justice for Laslo.

Very satisfied with our game yesterday. Congrats to my girls and Helle

Good attitude, good connection, big ambition and big progress as a TEAM. Cris, Bella, Paula, Nathalie and Iulia on high levels. Also a very good game by Line, Marit, Sabina and Oana. I expect from Amanda to take bigger steps in the very near future, if she wants to be a fixture. I'm seeing the will, I'm hoping for more. Helle is back to her normal self, using the girls in a smart way and seeing her tactical plans work.

For me all the CSM's players were GREAT .... I make NO difference among them when they play so well. Everybody on HER place in order to subdue to the TEAM PLAY. A team play is a matter of holistic affair. We can not have a great team built from 11 Messi(s) !

And by the way where is Camille Ayglon ?
Amanda ? ! I just say I love ...her (the way that she is)! .... If she get 3 solutions / match when the others players have non that means that is her place into this team. Many put so much pressure on her becauses she is not like their dreams want to be...

Why rumours? It's been official for a few days now.
And the team won't change it's name from the 20. November - just it's new name and other information will be revealed there. But in any case, these changes only take effect from next season.
