Broch was in Győr about a month ago to tell the club that she wouldn't come back this season. According to the president, she has until summer to decide if she wants to play in Győr next season (she has one more year in her contract).
But if they'd actually listened to her ahead of the season – say at the press conference where she was breaking down in tears – she's always been very clear about not feeling fit to return. At the press conference, she even said that she had no intentions of returning to handball whereas Győr's president was like "no, no, she'll be back as soon as she's ready" (paraphrased). It wasn't until the latest interview she did that she pondered about returning to handball, but even then she made it quite clear that it would be under different circumstances. As a Győr fan, I just think their whole (outside) handling of it has been ridiculous.
It's nice for her to know she'll be welcomed right back should she want to return. But 1.) be realistic – because of their stubbornness that this is something she'd be over in a couple of weeks, they've now gone half a season with Brattset as their only real line player who's good enough to play on the world's best team, and 2.) that's also a sick amount of pressure to put on a player who's just suspended her professional career in part because of the pressure she's been under for the past couple of seasons.
