Abbingh normally takes the penalties. Polman had done it a lot under Groener. Last test match Malestein also took some.

For Hungary, Klujber is clearly an option A, but Laura Szabó is a good 7m taker too, they are top favourites for me. Kovács, Schatzl and maybe Kovacsics are the B-lineup.

Romanian press said South Korea was disadvantaged by russian referees last seconds cancelling that "winning" goal ...I had the same feelling... but romanian commentator accepted without any explanation (why ? ) . My opinion the phase (not an easy one) it was around 60% in favour of SK .

Huge blow for Argentina to loose Elke Karsten - looked bad when sen landet on here knee - does anyone know is she can play a bit tomorrow?

Vyakhireva was back in the second half, so nothing serious there. I don't know about Karsten, I hope she will be OK.

For those that don't know 100% the Romanian NT, it's simply butchered.

Imagine for France not playing Zaadi and Nze Minko, because both Romanian playmakers were suspended (Buceschi and Laslo, and if Buceschi had her world class games including against Russia or Norway this time Laslo has been magnificent in Romania, much improved since Buducnost). Plus another 2 defenders, one being attack and defence Lacrabere.

So no Buceschi and Laslo, in addition Bucur (RB, one of Laslo/Bucur is regular there; and also great defender) and Bazaliu (Neagu's cover, Perianu is just a defender; also used as a central defender now) also paid the price of suspension.

Plus THE SELECTION IS BAD. And under a Swedish coach, Tomas Ryde. In my opinion Sorina Tîrcă is the best LB in the league now considering Neagu and Zamfir were injured.

Ryde will pay the price with a dismissal, he could have called up Zamfir. I am not sure if Elena Dache has improved so much or not, but I remember her from CSM Bucharest. Really, if they needed experienced players after the "butchery", they should have called Țicu up. Ana Maria Țicu is one of the reasons SCM Craiova won the EHF Cup 2 years ago, and also in a final against Vipers.

Polocoşer has been absolutely mediocre in the national team for a while, how not to convoke Zamfir? And also Țicu? Țicu is absolutelye without fear. But at least Polocoşer played very well against Senegal, wanting the same from her next and her head is ok. Really ambitious player, could increase if she's well trained and motivated.

So 4 regular players suspended, because Bazaliu was used this time as regular but in defence. And no Chiper (by far our best RW, it's like Herrem staying home for Norway), Tîrcă (very similar to Hafra, unreal, and Hafra plays at this level being only 1 year older), Țicu, Zamfir, ALINA ILIE (because Ilie is by far the best RB, better in attack clearly than Bucur and compared to Laslo she's left handed) and others. Oh, and Dana Abed Kader! How in the world can you ignore a player who is playing on 3 positions????????!!!!!

I don't blame Ryde so far for training methods, he won a bronze in the 2015 World Championships for Romania. But this is a failure regarding the selection(s). And previously Martin didn't test many players, such as Chiricuță, Czeczi (both could be better than Iuganu-Popa), Tecar (RB) etc. (I don't mention Chiper, Tîrcă, Zamfir, Țicu, Ilie and Abed Kader, because ALL 5 should have been present in Japan, plus 1 of Chiricuță/Czeczi). And a brilliant young playmaker, I forgot her name, from the youth and junior national teams. I am sure she has more courage than Dache. In fact, Țicu is a lot better than Dache.

So be happy with the corruption unfortunately! Who isn't playing for Romania in Japan:

- Ilie (Tecar should have been also tested to see where she stands now; in Zalău she looked a lot improved)
- Abed Kader (polyvalent player, she can play 3 positions)
- Chiricuță/Czeczi (only 1 should have been selected, instead of Iuganu-Popa because Florică is fine)

Who is in Japan and might not deserve:

- Pristăviță-Oltean (lol, even poorer than Adespii but at least Adespii is better in defence and had injury; still, to call up Adespii instead of Țicu and Abed Kader is a crime!)
- Vizitiu
- Iuganu-Popa
- Dache
- Zamfirescu (no matches, not tall and strong defender in order not to be missed)
- Seraficeanu (no idea though, she could be better than Aneta or not)

This is not the Romanian NT! But of course, overall Neagu, Pintea, Perianu (in defence) Dedu and Dumanska (this one only when she wants) can be world class players. Buceschi and Chiper are at home, Laslo didn't prove yet as international.

This is a disgrace, how can you build a great team if you are not testing players? And you present yourself with fossils like Vizitiu, Iuganu-Popa and Oltean? Zamfirescu doesn't play at all in Vâlcea under a Romanian coach. Is she Dulfer? Better call Szucs up, she's at Izvorani training like crazy!

The logic of this pathetic coach (so far only in terms of selection), he wants players with experience if some are gone: but you are selecting Dache and Seraficeanu instead of Țicu and Chiper! Țicu didn't play yet in the NT because she got injured for the 2018 Euro. But in fact she was tremendous for Craiova in the EHF Cup. And sometimes you must also feel the players, Abed Kader would have given 200% compared to this Dache. And Seraficeanu after all she's stealing Chiper's player, 0 experience. Dache and Seraficeanu play in Japan but have 0 matches in Romanian National Team. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?

PS. Do you know what is funny? Romania looked in Euro they would beat everytime Montenegro by 4-7 margin and more likely Hungary by 8-12. I am shocked of the new developments. And Dedu gets a new mandate instead of Nora Lecu.

Somebody in this world, maybe in Norway, did consider to ask the experts if the goal was valid for South Korea? Or not? Because I thought it was even if the other Korean player was fouled in the area.

These referees act like they are frightened to whistle AGAINST Denmark and Norway. Btw in the 1st half the 2 Argies were awful, in the 2nd half much better (well, classy compared to the worst - the 2 Swedish women in CL) but they screwed the ending.

I am still highly allergic to Bonaventuras!

NEAGU PRESENTED WITH 2018 IHF WORLD HANDBALL PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD IN JAPAN

Romania captain Cristina Neagu was presented with the 2018 IHF Women’s World Handball Player of the Year on court today during half-time of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Japan Group D match at the 2019 IHF Women’s World Championship in Kumamoto, Japan.

Left back Neagu received her award from IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa and Kiyofumi Tamiaki, CEO of IHF Partner Molten.

The award is Neagu’s fourth.
