2020 European Championship - Denmark & Norway

Postby matt_ » Wed Jan 23, 2019 2:52 pm

http://www.eurohandball.com/2017/article/020218/00-00

Herning and the 14,000-capacity Boxen Arena in Denmark as well as Stavanger and its Idrettshall, Trondheim with a newly constructed arena and the 13,000-capacity Telenor in Norway's capital Oslo are the four venue and host cities included in the bid.

Group A and Group B in the preliminary round will be played on alternate days in Herning. Trondheim in Norway - also on alternating days - hosts the preliminary round for Groups C and D.

The main round will take place in Herning and Stavanger and the finals will take place in Oslo's Telenor Arena.

Any info, how many teams will play? I've heard they remain at 16, but it was while ago and not a official source :p

Women's EUROs to stay with 16 teams at least for 2020 and 2022.

"It was agreed that the proposal for an expansion of the Women’s EHF EURO to 24 teams from 2024 would be examined further."

What has happened in the Netherlands?
There are tickets available for the play Netherlands - Austria. I bought one last week. For the EC Qualifications two years ago were tickets usually sold out in 24 hours.
In conclusion, I declare that EHF must be destroyed

I thought that they were already sold out, going to buy tickets now xD. Maybe because of the holidays that it's not selling fast

The 23-player squad for the EC qualifications against Austria and Greece:
GK: Rinka Duijndam (BVB), Tess Wester (Odense)
LW: Martine Smeets (Molde), Zoë Sprengers (VOC), Bo van Wetering (TuS Metzingen)
LB: Lois Abbingh (Rostov Don), Kelly Dulfer (BVB), Jessy Kramer (Toulon), Estavana Polman (Team Esbjerg), Inger Smits (BVB)
CB: Delaila Amega (TuS Metzingen), Larissa Nüsser (KBH)
RB: Sarah Dekker (RB/RW, Bensheim Auerbach),Laura van der Heijden (Bietigheim), Dione Housheer (NFH), Anouk Nieuwenweg (Chambray Touraine), Tessa van Zijl (Blomberg-Lippe)
RW: Debbie Bont (KBH), Angela Malestein (Bietigheim)
P: Merel Freriks (BVB), Tamara Haggerty (TuS Metzingen), Danick Snelder (FTC), Nikita van der Vliet (VOC)

I think Abbingh and Polman will play often on CB since Amega is still injured and i doubt that she will be ready in time. Also i'm surprised that Knippenborg got no place in the team.

The final team will be anounced before 9 september.

Also there will be extra places for the match against Austria, because the selling went well so there are extra tickets available xD

For Christ sake, not Popa-Iuganu again !?! And where is Sorina Tirca ?
Will play Neagu on Valcea -CSM and Ro - Ukraine ?? ...first time ( after surgery ) in official matches ? ?? Not a good idea I think . She must begin to play step by step some easy official matches few minutes and then grow minutes in progressive mood in tough matches.

PS : GSP think Neagu will not play and aserted that Tirca is injured...

Polman still isn't recovered from her knee injury and Knippenborg will replace her.
