Re: Availability for National Team
Grzyb was completely heartbroken after the game against Sweden and my heart broke for her too. She had truly given it her all. And that idiotic teammate of hers that straight up KICKED a Swedish player to warrant a suspension just when Poland was about to turn the match around deserves to be banned for life on grounds of stupidity.
I've always thought that Kristina Liščević was boycotting the NT, but it turns out she wants to play, but the current coach has never contacted her and she doesn't know why she's being excluded.

Re: Availability for National Team
I'm honestly surprised so many big names are throwing in the towel with the Tokyo Olympics being this close. There's Sand, although in her (?) case it's a bit more understandable, Alm and now Groot. None of them have won an Olympic medal and it's not an impossible goal, so I'm a bit perplexed they're not willing to stick around a bit longer.

Re: Availability for National Team
I can understand the decision and the explanation of Groot very well. The schedule is overloaded, Gyor, CL and national team, the more you play the more pain and a chance you will face an injury, look at what happened in the last week of EC 2018, an injury and a ridiculous schedule. She is now 30 years, in a few months 31 years old, she makes a clear choice to extend her club career, besides she also said "the club pays my salary".

It 's sad for the Dutch NT, with Groot (and Broch
) a medal on the 2020 Olympics would be a realistic goal, without Groot and Broch (and a new coach) even qualifying for the Olympics is not straightforward.
Delaila Amega is on the position of Groot a good substite but she is young and unexperienced, Polman is a good option as well, but Groot is difficult to replace,

The new coach appears to be a fine persuader.

Valentina Ardean Elisei retires from NT. It seems she played against UKR her last game.

Re: Availability for National Team
^ This saddens me a lot although it was about time. Alice is one of the greatest players that Romania ever had and probably its best left wing ever. A true character and a natural born captain, she won so many titles, medals and personal distinctions that not even Wikipedia can remember
. My absolute favorite player, you will be indeed missed Alice!*

Re: Availability for National Team
Come on, Silviu, this is not fair, you know how much I appreciate her work.
Though her choice to retire after this game against UKR seems a bit strange, doesn't it?

Does anyone know if there is a reason why Barbara Lazovic is not playing for Slovenia?
Does Bregar ignore her? Did she decide to retire from NT or she ignores the calls?

Re: Availability for National Team
Do you know who we are? We are Egypt’s handball players.
Under the hashtag ‘#wearethechampions’ (or ‘Ehna el abtal’ in Arabic), handball players belonging to the generations born in 1998 and 2000 launched a campaign urging the Egyptian Handball Federation to meet two specific demands. The first is to create a women’s national first team that would allow them to represent their country. Since they all turned 20, they can no longer compete for Egypt at youth events, and the lack of a senior team means their days of playing for their country are over.
The players – who have represented Egypt at various age-groups, winning bronze at the 2015 Mediterranean U18 Championship in Tunisia, gold at the African Championship and placing ninth at the Worlds, and so on – have been fighting the federation for the past two years to fulfill their promise and form a national senior team for women.

In talks with Kim Naidzinavicius and Julia Behnke, the players and national coaches agreed that further cooperation is no longer possible. Naidzinavicius and Behnke are therefore no longer available to the women's national team until further notice.
idle banter.

Nothing specific has been mentioned. It just seems that both players are unhappy with the "philosophy and strategy" of the team - whatever that is supposed to mean.
idle banter.
