Does this fit in here? Germany is "seriously considering" applying to host the 2024 European championship together with Switzerland and Netherlands (so a tripple bid). The decision if they will do so or not will be taken next month.

So far no other country has decided to apply to host the 2024 European Championship.

The UNC/Concordia, current Brazilian winner of National League 2018 got the right to host the Panamerican Championship of clubs from IHF. They were also informed that the Panamerican winner will get a directly spot to the 1° Women Super Globe 2019 that will occur in China, anyone has more information about that?

No details, but Women's Super Globe indeed has to be integrated among the international competitions from this year, IHF noted that earlier:

Now they want to host the WC 2025 together with the Dutch. No mention of Switzerland anymore.

What will happen to the EC 2024? Still no host? I suppose it can always take place in Denmark, again. :p

The IHF Council decided to amend the Regulations for IHF Competitions with regards to the number of players on the one hand and the match scheme on the other in order to create better conditions for the athletes at Senior World Championships. All amendments shall come into force as of 1 January 2020.

The number of players per team shall be increased from 16 to 18.

Subsequently, the provisional registration list shall also be extended from 28 to 35 players, with an amended submission date of two months prior to the start of the competition instead of one.

Furthermore, the number of player replacements of the 18-player squad shall be increased from currently three to five players.

Besides the amendments regarding the number of players, the IHF Council decided also on a new match scheme, adding a phrase in the regulations which guarantees that each team has a rest day after a match day so that back-to-back matches are no longer an option at IHF Senior World Championships.

In addition, the term “rest day” had to be defined in a precise way. Therefore, a day with a travel duration of less than 4 hours and 30 minutes from the place of accommodation to the next place of accommodation shall be considered as rest day, while days with a longer travel duration require an additional rest day in the match scheme.

One rest day is not enough! It's better than nothing, but IMO it cheapens the competition when I see how some teams struggle towards the end of a championship because of (presumably) lack of rest.

I also don't like how there is a major competition every year. It's a bit silly and childish - like a kid who can't resist eating more and more sweets. Less would be better in this case and would probably also make it easier to find hosts for these competitions.

Not sure if this fits in with this topic, but I can't think of another suitable thread.

It doesn't seem to be over yet ;)

As of 23/06/2019 at 15:00
We are currently developing possible plans to rescue the club and join the Superleague in the 2019/2020 season. A very big and very positive response of the environment is our fuel for further fight. Thank you all for your good words and support. The matter should clear up during the week. We believe that the City will also support us in the fight for the survival of female handball in Szczecin.
In the case of positively settled talks, we will inform the public about the possibilities and ways to support our Club!

For those interested but who don't know, an archived version of the old IHF website still exists here, only God knows for how long. Any info about the history of this sport at the Olympics has already disappeared. Not that the old website was a gem but it still contained useful information whereas the new one is dull and completely useless.

LE: Anyway, I am very grateful to the Handball Federation of Russia, I just found the missing .pdf file here and I was therefore able to save it at the Wayback Machine.
