Great match ,european levell Gloria Bistrita - Corona Brasov 21-24(12-9) ROUND 5

Bistrita lead almost from begining to min 50 in front 2-4 goals and got the impression that nothing wrong can happened, they can't lose...then in min 50 Tirca levelled the score and then min 51-52 Tirca scored a consecutive 2 more goals and Corona lead 2 goals . Bistrita want to come back...but Corona manage somehow to keep the distance of 1 goal and finally to increase to 3 goals.Bistrita played under pressure and risky last 3 min.
I liked from Bistrita....Pristavita,Dinca,Szabo,Rodriguez,Elisei and Mazareanu(great match GK)
and from Brasov ....Tirca,Ciuciulete,Chiricuta,Buceschi

Modest played Oana Tiplea,Garcia Avilla(Bistrita) and Marina Dmitrovic (Brasov).Craciun want to use Dmitrovic only in atack(not bad idea in order to spare her one- half- match forces but didn't work...perhaps because Marina need a more speedy atack to be realy efficient...not breaking own atack with the players changing)
Teodora Bloj very few min in the end (wow ! with new short hair modern look )
I feel Pasca didn't trust these 2 players (Oana and Teodora)....this match at least....
Oana used around first 10 min and last 10 min of the match.

CSM seems to be weaker than last season , as most of us expected. On the other side teams like Cisnadie,Valcea increased the levell.Craiova also maintain up-there and also Brasov....will be a nice real 4 challenges 4 title this season . Valcea has now first option (Cisnadie a little bit too oldish )...Valcea has a strong defence, class and young GK's, good rithm and an unstoppable Glybko who scored 9 of 22 team's goals (does anyone in FRH think about her naturalisation ?)

Yesterday,Valcea's players were very brave indeed. All Valcea's players worked hard but Glybko ( 9/8 from action.1 from penalty) ,Dumanska,Ciuca were key players.
Vasileuskaia not as good in atack as in other games but really a rock in defence near Khouildi (that kind of player who do not make the show but win the match). Congrat girls ! ...your work and talent make chmpshp more interesting and give a chance CSM not to live on the moon .

On CSM's side only Radicevic with some brilliant goals (wing and counteratack) and Neagu with some usefull passes ....
awful goal (again...how many more "again" ?)

I remember this topic was on table some years ago. Hopefully she declined the possibility and they never went too far with this.
We have enough Ukrainians in our NT. Not being disrespectful, I really appreciate Glibko, Dumanska, Pidpalova, Shymkute, Managarova etc and all they did for some Romanian teams, but they should help (should have helped) rebuild their native country NT which is really struggling to get back to European elite.
Why don't you ask about Gavrila for instance? She is very promising imho, but nobody talks about this girl...

Hopefully she not declined....( as far I know she wanted to be RO citizen.... after 6-7 years in RO Chmshp in no less than 4 teams ! and 2 RO goalgetter titles.... the other you mentioned went after 2 years because they have only the disposal to play in CH league- team and not even that was enough because they hardly adapted or want more moneys in Rostov or some french teams )....and they ? who they ? the national handball team is ours not "theirs"....ukrainians in RO NT ? I only see romanian citizens there...stop digging for ascendancy papers from Decebal and Trajan .
I am not such an important person to pretend someone to remember my posting but I wrote several time about Gavrila's qualities ...see for instance 4 june 2017 viewtopic.php?f=2&t=5582&start=25#p165987

Sorry, but it's very hard to follow you...
I will try to explain myself better:
they = FRH officials
I know Glibko plays since forever here and maybe she applied (or not) for citizenship, but as far as I remember (I don't know exactly where I read this and I am too lazy to google it) she had no intention to play for Romanian NT.
If you read again my post, you will understand I have great respect for all those players, but you simply can't give citizenship to all good players in our league in order to call them for the NT. We have Dumanska and I'm good with that.
Sorry, I didn't recall your post from 2017, but you are again missing the point: it was not about YOU, it was about all users who follow the Romanian League and not only (also coaches, etc), even if I was addressing you.
Live long and prosper.

We have many playmakers, we don't need another non-Romanian player. I wouldn't have minded if Glibko would have been RB though. She basically played all of her career in Romania.

@swarthofole: I've been watching Glibko for many years now and she's one of my favorite players. I am glad that she feels good in Romania and I hope she will stay here. Yet I agree with you and I think we should grow our own players; Dumanska is a very special case, she came here as a kid and she basically developed her career in Romania first as a youth, then as a junior and finally as a senior player.
This is not a nationalistic rant, I respect all nations and I myself live in another country so I'm not at all against naturalization, only I think we still have a lot of good handball schools and we owe to give a chance to those kids first.
Back to Glibko, I really hope for a more balanced approach when FRH will announce the best foreign player in Romanian League for 2018, it rightfully belongs to Iryna. I won't nevertheless keep my expectations high because I remember how Zamfir was shamefully denied the title of "best Romanian player in Romanian League" one year ago.

I will echo what @Silviu very well said about Glibko, as well as Dumanska. Their cases are obviously different and he explained it well.

Every now and then the discussions on Iryna come back, but we forget that she needs i) to be a citizen of Romania (which by now she can become and which she could do for simplifying her work status as well), ii) to actually wish to switch sides and iii) a 3 years break away from her NT, which will mean she won't be available for her new side until she'll be 31.

Fantasy aside, I also don't agree with the thesis that "they should help rebuild their NT". First, if Iryna is now 28 and she still didn't switch for another team, it means she's playing her part. Second, Pidpalova helped her team until the end of international career, whereas for the other two, their ethnic background explains why they switched. Third, the state of Ukrainian handball is far from being in the hands of a handful of players choosing to represent their team, so I'm not sure what is expected of them when asked to "help rebuild their NT". Take a look at the Ukrainian sport as a whole and the country itself in the post 2014 period and you'll understand it is not as simple as turning out for a couple of handball matches.

@mikh: I didn't say they all didn't help Ukrainian NT. I was mentioning some very good players who came to Romania and did a very good job and of which few of them switched sides (Managarova, Shymkute). Of course not all them would have been eligible for Romanian citizenship, but even if they were, that doesn't mean they should be also players of the NT. That got nothing to do with my anti-naturalization thinking, it's after all their decision to make. And if they want to be a Romanian citizen it is also their call (there could be a lot of reasons to apply for that and I am glad they are feeling good in our country).

I know and I agree with the fact that we still have a decent selection pool in women's handball, so unless there are really particular cases (like that Dumanska) it's not necessary to try and take players from other NTs. So we agree here.

What I meant is to explain on one side how impractical it would be to convince Glibko to switch now (especially for her!) and also to make the point that she's also served her country during a very tough period over there.

Shymkute comes from Lithuanian mother and Russian father, but was born in Ukraine. So the switch kind of makes sense for her.
As for Managarova, I remember reading she comes from a rusophone family, but maybe the Russians or Ukrainians here can correct me. As expected in this corner of Europe, ethinicites are mixed and things are rarely cut clear.

Yeah, but they both played for Ukrainian NT... Regardless their reasons to make that change, they developed in Ukraine, they agreed to play for Ukraine. So maybe the naturalization policy should be different in handball, but this is another topic and I feel that it was already covered on this forum.

Next round:

At least TVR finally got a sport, one of the cheapest. But they don't cover as many as Digi covered. Nothing from Sibiu County?
