Viborg - Esbjerg. The first eight minutes are missing from my recording, other than that everything works fine. Too bad tv2 doesn't let fans from abroad watch the games, I would gladly pay them if it was possible, instead of paying unstable iptv.

So the last round is fast approaching and I bet that we might see some curiuos results in the last round when teams try to pick the playoffgroup of their liking.

The top 3 is pretty straight forward. Odense has to win, Esbjerg has to win if they hope to get the first spot and VHK has to win if they hope to get the second spot.
Assuming that HIH beat HH today the 4th spot is settled.
CPH can try to choose to their group by losing to Ajax. I wouldn't if i were them, I would prefer the 1,4,5,8 group
NFH has to win if they want to change groups which I bet they would also want to do.
AAU play NFH and can lose the game to try and get into the 1,4,5,8 group.
Unfortunately for AAU, Silkeborg just have to lose to HH and thereby stay on the 8th spot.

I don't blame the teams that will wanna throw a game, they have to give themselves the best possible conditions to make it to the semi's.
But I do feel sorry for the teams in the bottom half that are battling it out for the points in the relegation playoffs and I do feel that the current structure is unfair to the bottom.

Anol, It will be interesting to see if the teams do these calculations. Losing intentionally might be dangerous for the morale of the team, but having a a more difficult group might be dangerous for the results of the team...

that's certainly true, but it has happened before. I recall that Cph, in my opinion, did it back in the 18/19 season, where they had a clear loss to Aarhus in Copenhagen. A game they really shouldn't have lost. They ofcause didn't admit that that's what they did, so it's only my interpretation.

Might as well be Randers that end up playing to stay alive. But isn't it hard to imagine that HH or RHK will lose to a 1.div team?

It would be an upset but if Horsens cannot beat Skanderborg, then they are going to have problems with Aalborg or SønderjyskE as well.

They are probably not unhappy that there is a NT break now. But I believe Viborgs coach was a little concerned, since it did not go well for them last time. Though with regard to Hogdahls injury it is good for them.

Today the handball federation's suggestion to cut two teams from the league was denied.

I don't really mind that there are 14 teams, what I do mind is that there imo are too many games for the best players and the bottom teams don't care. And at the same time accusing the top teams for only thinking of themselves while that is exactly the same thing they are doing, only thinking of themselves. Best examplified by Allan Heine, who when he was coach at VHK wanted fewer teams in the league, while now that would, all of a sudden, be the worst thing you could ever do.

Just for reference players like Røsberg and Solberg will at the end of the season have played between 70 and 80 games! it's insane

They need to find some way to bring down the number of games, I don't really care how, but it's too much. And the sad truth is that we can't count on IHF or EHF to do so. I like Thorir's suggestion of not having OG qualifiers. That seems silly, and something that must be possible to determine in some other way. But doubt that it will happen. And yeah 4 fewer games isn't all that much, but the only thing that we can maybe, just maybe, do something about is the number of games in the danish league

I actually can´t really figure out where I stand on this with regards to 14 or 12 teams in the league. I guess I think it doesn´t matter much(?). It´s the responsibility of the management and the coach to prepare for 26 league matches, playoffs, european tournaments, etc. They need to prepare for this by building a wide team of 16 players - and make sure that they give the key players the necessary breaks. Let´s take Solberg and Røsberg, because those are the players you mentioned. Why does a team like Esbjerg only have one rightwing?! Wing players are the cheapest on the market, and you can find a player of a decent quality to take up 20 minutes playing time here and there. And in the case of Solberg, Esbjerg actually has a quality substitute player in Halilcevic and I almost feel personally offended that she doesn´t get more time on court. Even in matches against the bottom teams, Solberg is the starting leftwing and Halilcevic is "allowed" on court when the lead is +10.

Regardless, it´s not the matches against Skanderborg or Vendsyssel that drain the profiles mentally or physically. In fact, the difference of level between professionals and amateurs should mean a welcome opportunity to let the players experience personal successes and use the wider rooster. It´s not like we have far distances to travel in Denmark, so travel fatique should not be an issue. I guess I´m returning to my opening point: It doesn´t matter much.

I don't disagree with your points about the esbjerg wingers. Though for halilcevic not playing more there is the fact that Solberg has a massive role in defense. A role that Elma simple cannot fill.

But you might also have noted that I did write that I don't mind there being 14 teams, but that I do want them to find a way to have fewer matches. And no, 4 matches probably don't matter much. But if you as a top team wanna minimize the number of games you also have to consider what you might be able to get others to agree to. I mean teams like VHK and Esbjerg might actually prefer 10 teams, but realize that there is zero chance to have that happening. So they suggest 12 teams.

Ideally you have a couple fewer games in each competition, but there is no way that EHF and IHF are gonna do that. So all we can consider changes to the league. If that means fewer team or a different structure doesn't matter to me.
What really winds me up is that you get the sense from the bottom teams and their social media surrogates that they quite frankly don't believe the topteams when they say that there are too many games. Oh and the Kristina Jørgensen argument also winds me up.

I am glad that there apparently is a league license on it's way. That kinda of s**t that skanderborg pulled with their players is despicable and hopefully can be avoided with a license
