Israel planned to begin three weeks ago its preparations to the phase 1 qualifications, but due to bizarre circumstances, we began them only three days ago:

During the first game of the league playoff's finals series, there was a bombs' alarm due to the mini-war we had here. The players had to stop the game and spend time together in a safe space, and the game was postponed.

The game was played again nine days later. The referees gave one of the players her third two minutes suspension, but somehow they didn't notice it was her third and she continued playing after that. Her team won, and the losing team appealed to court demanding a technical win or at least a rematch. It took the court three days to deny the appeal, so the second game was delayed.

So at the end of all that, Israel began its preparations just four days befire the game against Finland at Saturday. I'm not optimistic about qualifying and letting me see here Denmark, Romania and Austria in the next phase.

Anyway, this group's games are broadcasted in tv, so you can watch them with good quality on ehftv:
Friday: Faroe Islands - Finland 21-19
Saturday, 19:00 cet: Israel - Finland
Sunday, 17:00 cet: Faroe Islands - Israel

Israel was bad as usual and lost both of its games, but at least this time they had excuses in advance.

Faroe Islands is the winner of group three, beating both Finland (21-19) and Israel (29-25), and will join group 2 with Denmark, Romania and Austria in the next phase.

Greece easily beats Italy, Bosnia and Latvia to win its group, and will join Netherlands, Germany and Belarus in group 3. I wonder what happened to Italy which was easily defeated by Greece and Bosnia.

Portugal easily overcame Kosovo, Cyprus and Luxemburg, and will have the pleasure to meet Spain, Hungary and Slovakia in group 5.

Why is Norway directly qualified?
I mean first we have 3 hosts and second the champions from previous years didn't qualify directly for the next one?
What changed?

They are defending champions and the defending champions normally always get directly qualified iirc
